Well, I wouldn't fault any student on telling. Because if Kids are taught to keep quiet about it and not tell anyone...that wouldn't be good for the younger kids when it happens to a 12 year old classmate sleeping with his teacher.

Sidenote: Why is it so many female teachers sleeping with students? If this many male teachers were doing it, they'd be given much harsher punishments...and the word "rape" would be flying around.

I think it is more of a desire by the female in this case to have some power, some control over her "victim". I know it is pure speculation, but I would wager that the teacher was the "more aggressive" person in the relationship, and used sex as a weapon of control.
And how many 17/18 YO boys would have a problem being "controlled" in that manner?

I think this many male teachers (and probably MORE) ARE sleeping with female students. They just don't get caught. When they are caught, I think it depends on the jury and the judge involved in the case as to the severity of the punishments. This is still a "good old boy's world" to a certain degree...which I think explains a lot about why the female teacher/male student stories make such a splash.
I slept with my female student in college. I was teaching Anatomy and Physiolgy lab as a Senior student and dated and slept with one of my Soph students.

I went to three different high schools (one of them twice). I knew of ONE female teacher/male student (senior) relationship when I was in high school and it was a lot more scandalous back then than it is now. Those two wound up living together while he went to college, and I think they eventually got married but I have no idea if the marriage has lasted or not. I knew of four male teacher/female student relationships during the time I was in high school; none of those relationships lasted more than a few weeks or months and all but one of those male teachers were married. I have known of two male teacher/female student relationships since I've been out of school; one of those couples have been married for about 25 years. No legal action was ever brought against any of these people, teachers or students, male or female.
This type of stuff has always gone on, even back in the 60s when I was in high school. I think this stuff we read about nowadays is more a product of of a more legally aware/lawsuit-prone society than anything else.
I worked with an older guy once who married his high school sweetheart while they were both still seniors in high school - mush to the ire of one of the english teachers... whom he had been dating previously.
Everyone knew about him and the english teacher, it was not big deal back then.
Also - his wife was on the women's basketball team and after they were married they introduced her as "# 32 MRS. Ken ***** "
i know another older couple who have been married now 50 + years. he was her 9th grade science teacher. they got married whne she was a senior. thye have 7 children and 30 something grandkids.
This guy ratted her out just so he could brag about it in public
I think the FATHERS of these children have a lot to do with any "ratting out" that gets done. It's that good ol' boy thing I was talking about. "I'll show you, !"
When I was a freshman in HS I knew that a very well known football player at my school had screwed one of the female teachers... in the locker room showers. The thing is it was almost common knowledge to the football players and it seemed like every year she would have a new "favorite". I believe she was on the fundraiser board or something to that affect, so she had excuses to be with football players after school hours.
She wasn't that hot imo : /
