It's newsworthy in that the Spurs need to have some younger players to develop on IR for the coming years when they are over the cap.

He won't see much playing time, but he's a wiry defensive 3 that the Spurs can use in spot minutes if need be. If they let him sit on IR all year, they can groom him and see if he can develop a shot -- if not, there's no loss.

Next move I want the Spurs to make this summer is to give Tony his contract extension.
