Barry for Jumaine Jones S&T with Charlotte can be a good trade for both teams.
That's what I was thinking. If you sign him then you can forget about Evans, save for a trade.

THE CORRECTS MOVE MUST TO BE
Sign the Draft Picks: Scola and Javtokas(Javtokas is finished his Contract in Europe, if he sign with other Team for a year, the Spurs are going to Lose the Rights)
Make a trade, with Rasho, Barry, Horry, Oberto, Udrih, Finley or Nazr Bird Rights in a Sign and trade
With Jones you can also forget about Scola this year.
Untrue. He'd have to sit out a year.Javtokas is finished his Contract in Europe, if he sign with other Team for a year, the Spurs are going to Lose the Rights
Lets bring in all the European weapons then. Scola and so on.
A 3 requires faster than Malik who is actually a good undersized 4.
No biggie.
Trade Nazr to Chicago for one of their 3's (Deng or Nocioni). Don't know how that works w/ the cap, but that would put us back to the top.
Stromile Swift??? no?! Way, way, way overrated.
Tim Thomas. My (basically) hopeless dream, but would be perfect for the Spurs current situation with the Bigs.
Well, I am obviously not a scout but here are some observations on how Ford did in Germany:
- he was a good defender, good rebounder and shotblocker
- had some foul trouble throughout the playoffs
- in the Finals he had some good offensive games, finished mainly around the rim but was not good from the FT line
- he had to play C a lot because Stanojevic got injured
All in all I think he is not what the Spurs need, he is a good athlete but has limited offensive game -> no outside shot, poor FT shooter
He did not seem that strong, so I am not sure how he would do in the NBA.
Might give our bigs some rest but I would not expect him to help the Spurs immediately.
What about Quentin Ross? I couldnt find his contract situation, but I like the way he plays D and he can hit a fairly consistent mid-range shot. At 6ft 6 he isnt huge but he gives effort and has some really long arms. Of course if he´s under contract screw it.
Good idea but he's under contract.![]()
I say we take a look at DeMarr Johnson up there in Denver. The Spurs have always shown interest in this guy and this may be the summer that we pick him up. I like that he is long and athletic. what is he 6'9"? If we could pick him up, we could bring him under Bowen's tutelage and he could give us an energy boost from the 3 spot. I really like this kid alot and I hope the Spurs take a good look at him.
What are our needs? Back up PG, a mobile big(who can rebound and with range preferably), and long SF?
The solution is simple...
Trade Rasho and Barry to Cleveland for LeBron James, Donyell Marshall and Eric Snow.
Problem solved.
How it could happen:
LeBron is friends with Javtokas and would give anything to be teamtaes with him, so he would like to play in SA and win championships. He simply demands a trade.
Ferry wants to win championships so he convinces Cavs ownership to accept this trade only if Sanikidze is part of the deal. Ferrry convinces Cavs ownership than Sanikidze is the next LeBron...
[digression] Yes I know Sanikidze is only 20 weighs 110lbs, and his career pinnacle was averaging about 2.5 ppg in the French B Leagues for a half season, before needing sugery for tendinitis in both knees, and having to sit around and do nothing for the last 8 months...but since Spursfans still think this guy is the key to a le, why won't the Cavs owner? [/digression]
So anyway...Ferry convinces Cavs ownership to go for it...
Then when the Cavs fire Ferry we hire him as our GM and give him a susbstantial pay raise.
Simple as that.
It could happen......and I suspect this has a better chance of happening than Sanikidze making a meaningful contribution to this team next season....
