Like alcohol? That is precisely why I think it should be legalized. Then, the cops could do something worthwhile with their time...like chase and capture real criminals. And it sure would free up a ton of time in our court dockets. If alcohol is legal, pot should certainly be. Then, tax the out of it.

    exactly.

if there was a large powerfull POT lobby then it would be legalized.

Some things I just don't get.
Like Ephedra. 8 people died over 6 yrs or so thru the improper (re: mis-use) of ephedra. So the FDA bans it.

uhm.. what about tobacco?? it causes cancer !! it kills 1,000's every year!!

but ! we better get that damn ephedra off the shelves before another 10 people die in the next decade.

same thing with alcohol. Alcohol related rages leading to murder or accidents with guns, cars , etc etc, Alcohol abuse leading to incredible damage in the body, death from alcohol poinsening.
    But thats. OK.
What we really need to focus on is stopping people form sitting on thier couch all day smoking weed and eating cheetos.

ya know - if the snack food industry hired some good lobbyiset I'm sure they could get pot legalized. It;s in thier own best interest.

    I totally agree with ObiwanGinobili...

It is an unavoidable fact that a certain percent of the population needs and wants to get a buzz on and whether getting buzzed is legal or not they are going to do it. It's been that way for hundreds if not thousands of years. Prohibition obviously didn't work with alcohol, and it is a lot more harmful to health than smoking pot.

About the worst knock on pot is that it makes you unproductive...and governments spend billions every year finding, trying, convicting, and imprisoning pot users so they can sit in jail and be...uhhhh...unproductive? That makes a of a lot of sense...

Has anybody ever died from smoking marijuana?
    drinking alcohol?
    smoking/chewing tobacco?
    taking Vioxx?
    wearing Guidant pacemakers?

As Chris Rock's hilarious skit goes: "It's all white, so it's all right"

I dunno, a residential home with 50 windmills seems the same as paying $40,000 a month in electricity, as far as making yourself look suspect goes.

They must sell it cheap in Tennessee.
    It's 40 - 60.00 an 1/8th around here.
Unless it's Hydro, then it's different.
