Wasn't Posey suspended for a similiar hit in the Bulls series?
Yes I am a Mavs fan but this suspension is complete BS. Game 5 of the NBA freakin Finals and you suspend Stack....basically giving the Heat the win and a 3-2 lead.
How is Stack suppose to foul Shaq and prevent a dunk? I guess the NBA wants to to barely touch him so he can dunk it in your face. The position of the play made it such that Stack had to basically go through his body to make a play on the ball. Yes his elbow probably grazed his face but come on...where is the bruise or signs of blood?? THIS IS THE FINALS....Stern you are a moron. Just blatent example of the NBA's hate for Mark Cuban taking over. So basically this year in the playoffs....
1. Suspend Terry in Game 6 vs the Spurs...yes probably warranted...he threw a punch
2. Suspend Mbenga 6 Games for going in the stands...when precendece had been set...5 game for Davis when he was on the court dressed and playing and leaped over the stands...Mbenga was not even dressed to play.
3. Now game 5 of the Finals and Stack is suspended

Stack didn't even make a play on the ball.
His whole mindset was to knock Shaq down and make damn sure he didn't make the layup. It was definately a flagrant, and keeping in line with other suspensions handed out this post season I think it was worthy of a suspension too.

Suspension or not, let's not act like Stack is some world-beater. Sure the team will take the hit off the bench, but Stack has been hit (get it?) or miss most of the season.

the league isn't gonna put up with this kinda stuff. the sooner the mavs players realize it the sooner they will quit getting suspended for it.
taking a big scoring punch off the bench and outside threat like him, IS a big deal.
