Ah, okay. Sarcasm.
Um, no. I was referring to the rumor.
If anything, the Spurs are trading him for a higher pick, and are using this as a screen both for that trade and for who they're really looking at.
No. It makes sense to let out that you have a lower pick offer for Scola's rights if you want to encourage a team with a higher pick to make an offer.
Sounds likely. Or, they could just be looking for a coachable backup point guard who can shoot and play defense...
To have waited this long only to "settle" is lame.
To me, unless it's a great trade in favor of the Spurs, make Tau and Scola sit another year when the buyout will be zero. Would also up his tradeability.
Risk if he gets hurt, otherwise at this late point see no downside.
Now, I see your what you meant SPARKY. Sorry about that.
Couldn't they trade Scola for the 25 pick and take their small forward of the future here? It's doubtful that Thabo Sefalsha falls nearly that far, but James White should still be on the board.
^^This year's draft is supposed to be the weakest in years. Next year is supposed to be a great draft.
I agree... pick #25 for a big who can score in the post, who led gold-medal winning Argentina in scoring in the Olympics? I don't like to worry about the future when Duncan's in his prime now, but this sounds ridiculous.
i rather trade scola for a 2nd round pick in the 07 draft
Oberto looked like a NBA player in the Olympics.
This is the same guy who said his uncle heard that Scola was signing from a radio station in Houston... did he tell you this too?
You might not believe me because I dont have a link, and I understand.Anyways,my uncle is a cop in Houston and he said on some sports or news channel he heard the Spurs were close to signing Scola and agreed in principle to a multi-year deal with Javtokas. They are reportedly also going to wave Eric Williams.
He looked like an NBA player guarding Dirk in the playoffs also. Scola is definitely supposed to be better, so after waiting this many years why dump the whole process. He is only 24, was league MVP and his team made the Finals, even if they did get worked in the Finals.
Might as well wait one more year unless a trade now truly benefits the Spurs.
gibson is clutch and can develop in the the nba. i think he has lots of upside. that said, not sure this is a good move if it happens.
This would be a horrible, horrible move. Gibson is not NBA ready.
I believe the trade part to the Cavs.
I'm not sure I fully believe the taking of Daniel Gibson part, if that part is true I hope Pop has a backup player and then hope Gibson is gone when the Cavs pick. *prays*
well first off hes 26.He looked like an NBA player guarding Dirk in the playoffs also. Scola is definitely supposed to be better, so after waiting this many years why dump the whole process. He is only 24, was league MVP and his team made the Finals, even if they did get worked in the Finals.
Second of all, hes an undersized power forward, who rebounds like .
No thanks, Ive said since the 10 million dollar buyout last year to trade this stooge's rights.
Gibson is a at best a bench guard (probably NBDL) who is out of the league in 2-3 years. Very bad year for point guards in draft.
Gibson is going to be available when the spurs pick in the 2nd round so why would they need to trade for him?
ive read sumwhere that hughs can be traded also......only players i think spurs wants from cavs is probaly hughs or lebron, but i wouldnt touch hughs contract
Id much rather stand pat at 59 and get Kyle Lowry![]()
The plan all along was for him to be a 3, right? At 6'9" he could do fine.
Esp since Tim was moved to the 4, he could provide some O from the 3. Oh right, small ball. Yeah who is our center now?
I would think he could board just as well as Fins Fabs and Bob Horry.
Cav's have interest in trading Ilgauskas and sign and trade Gooden. They need a top level point guard. They already have too many power forwards (more than the Spurs). Varejo, Marhsall, Gooden.
