oh yeah, new coach, new dirk. right.
typical ahf cant figure out what was happening on the basketball court.Typical Marcus/vkitten/Sparky/etc.
i know, pop shouldve played his centers so the series wouldve been over in 4.
Malik didn't win that series/game, Nash lost it by CONTINUING to double off of a scorching hot Kerr.

still in denial i see.
be glad, man. the spurs didnt have a 1st round pick this year and mohammed the savior is gone. ing awesome.
I'd love to have Malik here so he could sit on the bench next to Marks, or Elson, or whoever.
People forget he was in the Perpetual Pop Doghouse before he was traded.
He was done here.
Done I say. Fvckers. Give it a rest.
right, because obviously the team's leadership knows what it is doing
I miss the Malik of Jan-Jun 2003.
That Malik was never to be seen again.
After "Mr Red Lobster" cuts Liki
The Spurs should pick him up
Yes.![]()
exactly. I do miss him. Me likey him alot. Even tho he's not *from* san antonio.. you feel like he's a home town boy.
plus he's great for moral
however.....
there's no room in the budget for butterflies and rainbows. Basketball is a buisness.
and yet beno and oberto draw checks with elson set to get one too
People are missing the boat on why having a Malik Rose (or A. Walker or U. Haslem) when playing against Dirk.
Dirk can shoot over anybody almost or drive past them. You don't beat him by stopping his shot, but by stopping him from getting to the glass. There is no way that Finley or Bowen could keep Dirk from hitting the glass at both ends of the court, with Malik you at least have a decent shot at grabbing the rebound.
I'd like to have the Will Perdue of 1999. And if it's not too much, I'd like to have the David Robinson of 1995, too.
The only rebounds Malik would be grabbing against Dirk are the occassional missed free throw attempts.
Marcus (and others) think this is still 2001, that Dirk has not learned to be aggressive going to the hoop, and that the rules don't favor him getting to the line every time someone breathes on him. If Duncan was picking up cheap fouls trying to cover Dirk, what do you think would have happened to Malik?
I'm not sure when Malik became this great perimeter defender, or when he suddenly developed the speed to be able to defend people taller and faster than him. He's always played bigger than himself against post players and has done a great job, but he doesn't defend that great outside the paint.
He's a good hustle player who forgot how to hustle. From what I saw of him on the floor with the Knicks last year he looks slower of foot, and doesn't have much elevation anymore. Not the attributes you want in a 6'5" power forward.
