ing and everyone trashed me for being a wrestling fan....

<<<<Not surprised, I told you guys a lot of NBA players were wrestling fans.

Actually...most athletes are, because it does take athletic ability, and you have to be a tough mofo(usually).

And what was really funny about when you guys trashed me...San Antonio is a wrestling town and always has been.

All Spursfans should be Shawn Michaels fans...he's was going to games and supporting the Spurs long before it was fashionable to do so.

Anybody that thinks of wrestling as being merely "fake"...

I have a challenge for you...sometime when a wrestling event is in your town, go see if you can get a chance to get in the ring and throw yourself against the ropes...just one time.

Then tell yourself the feeling you have is, "fake".

Then realize that is probably the least painful thing they do in the ring.

BTW, you'll have more luck trying this at an Indy event.

Scriped outcomes suck but the actual physical activity and punishment in the ring is anything but fake(90% of the time), even ift hey are trying to protect each other...and wrestlers give your moneys worth of blood sweat and tears more than any proffesional athlete does. Scripted outcome or not. These guys get more broken necks, backs and wrecked bodies than any pro athlete. That's why they pretty much all die young.

Imagine being thrown down on your neck and back 10 times a night 300 nights a year...it's a hard job.

That has more to do with taking farm animal sized doses of steroids and pain killers.

But carry on. You've been waiting for an article like this for year.

You have to be in shape and a good athlete and tough to be a stuntman, too. And stuntmen get hurt. But it's still fake.

    Wrestling = stunts

Stuntmen aren't near as disrespected as Wrestlers are...nor is the profession viewed as being some kind of cheap ripoff like wrestling is...that's a big difference.

And I'll say that Wrestlers take much more punishment than Stuntmen do...

Wrestling sucks because there's no major compe ion since Vince bought his two biggest rivals so the writing sucks ass, and outlawed all the cool moves to protect hiis investment.

True that. For my money my favorite times in wrestling came from the pressure that the WWF/WCW rivalry produced.

Exactly, they rehearse everything and the outcome is already decided. How stupid is that??? Of course the guys are tough and have to be in good shape to do the stunts but it's still all BS.

Um...if you think the action in movies is more real than wrestling and the outcomes aren't just as scripted...then you need to go back to intelligence school.

It's the exact same thing...with the exception that Wrestlers need to be better actors than Stuntmen. And they also have to work harder and the job is more risky...

You're missing the point. No one is questioning how hard it is to do what wrestlers do. It's the fact that it's all scripted and they try to play it like it's not. Obviously, movies are scripted.

You miss the point. The stuntmen aren't claiming it's real; they freely acknowledge they're technicians/artists trying to achieve an effect.

And obviously wrestling is scripted, hence the name "Sports Entertainment"...and the only jokes are those that think they are one of the "elite" that realize it is scripted.

And BTW, the coolest thing is that sometimes wrestlers don't go by the script...and they don't always protect each other either.

    IE, it's not always fake...

So don't think you know everything about it...it's a quirky business.

Just because the script calls for a wrestler to lose, doesn't always mean they are willing to do it...

LOL Shoogar...do you really think you are one of the few that realizes it's scripted?

Do you think the majority of the fans don't realize that?

    That's the funny thing.

What's your next revelation? That the earth is round?
