Let's put it this way.

The last two centerpiece stories on days my byline was on the front page were an 8-year-old roping champion and a feature about people coming to town to play in a football tournament.

My stories those days:

Kidnapped: Seven detained in drug-related abduction of San Angelo man

Affidavit disputes LLB explanation

(LLB = Los Lonely Boys)

I'm just kidding, though. The two centerpiece stories had great art with them. Cops reporting doesn't lend itself to that too much.

The kidnapping story had mugshots on the jump and the LLB story had a headshot of JoJo Garza (regular, not mugshot, though I did get that from Austin).

yeah, that sounds like a killer idea. except that my car is out of commission with a clutch that went out and my buddy I was depending on to scoop me doesn't get off until 11:45. so i'm stuck here at the house, which in sucks. I suppose I can knock down a couple of brews in the meantime. oh well, at least i tivo'd entourage.
