It is the YANKEES...YANKEES and Red Sox are high and above everyone else and deserve all coverage in the eyes of ESPN.
Guillen hits for the cycle, Verlander wins his ML leading 14th, Utley extends his hit streak to 33 and ESPN decides that Abreu drawing a walk is their lead story? Un ingbelievable.

I know what it is, and it gets worse with each passing day. They compared Ortiz to MJ last night. A guy who doesn't play in the field at all to the greatest player in his sport. Seriously, are they high?
They should just call it the YESNESN network during the summer and be done with it.
That's my fear. Allen wouldn't, couldn't, shouldn't pass up the opportunity when or if it comes. Of course George Kell and Ernie Harwell were awesome sportscasters too IMO and they stayed true to the Tigers.
I have no idea what the payscale is for National broadcasters vs single team broadcasters.
It's nice to have excellent sportscasters and an excellent team at the same.
But did you actually see the walk? It was phenomenal!![]()
ESPN f'n sux! Now, we get a lead story of Bill Simmons comparing which Boston athlete was more clutch, Bird or Ortiz, and we get a chance to vote on it. Does anyone outside of the Northeast really give a crap about which Boston athlete was more clutch? What an f'n joke.
Waaaaaah! East coast bias! j/k
I agree completely mind you, but it stopped bothering me after I watched the Tigers ascend to the top of both leagues. They are one of the greatest story in baseball in decades. 2 years ago they are fighting tooth and nail to not lose 120 games and break a dubious record.
Rags to riches, yet Abreu's OBP percentage goes up on an 0-4 night is news.
Best 9 pitch AB. Ever.
Hopefully the Tigers won't end up like the Mariners in 2001. One of the greatest regular seasons of all time got ruined by the effing Yankees in the ALCS.
We in Tiger land could really care less. 13 straight losing seasons...if they win the pennant, everything else is gravy.
You will be singing a different tune if you make it to the ALCS.
Absolutely true.
