Go ahead, I know of several Raider fans here at work that can even admit that they suck. They really have no threats on either side of the ball. And they really messed up in the off season drafting and picking up key players.
Go ahead and save the page but it's pointless. They will be lucky to be third in their division much less a playoff team. KC, SD, and Denver are all much better teams.

Randy Moss?
but he does have to have somebody that can throw it to him...
nevermind, you're right.
Unless Moss is going to play a lineman I dont think Brooks will get it to him.
i agree. people better watch out for the raiders. they have a dangerous team, with lots of youthful talent. they will be good this year, but be VERY dangerous in years to come.
Which is exactly why they wont get very far this year.
yea, they may not get too far this year, but people still better not sleep on them. any team with Randy Moss cannot be overlooked. he is the most talented and dangerous single offensive weapon in the game today. he may have a history of taking plays off, and being lazy, but it doesnt mean you can overlook him. when he wants to, he can be the most unstoppable force in the league, and everyone knows it.
Also proving they are 1 dimensional. Moss will be double teamed and Brooks will be in panic mode from the pressure. I think he will once again throw more Int's than TD's this season.
makes sense, yo friends are dumbasses
i dont recall the Vikings having much of a defense or running game, yet they were very dangerous, and were able to make the playoffs. and if you honestly think only double teams can consistently stop Moss, you clearly have no clue what you are talking about. and with him drawing double and triple teams, it will open up the passing game for guys like Jerry Porter, Ronald Curry, and Courtney Anderson, and the running game for Lamont Jordan, and Zach Crockett. i think because of Kerry Collins extreme incompetence, people forgot how dangerous Randy Moss really is. sure, Brooks doesnt have a great history of being a smart QB, but hes a of a lot better than Kerry Collins, and would have enough sense to know that he can just throw it deep to Moss, and Moss will take care of the rest. if Collins simply had bombed it deep to Moss, like Culpepper used to, the Raiders could have very easily been 8-8, maybe even better. there were several games that they really should have won last year, and could have even won easily, if collins wasnt such a dumbass.
Im not the dumbass pretending to be black and talking hooked on ebonics.
I do recall however them having a QB named Dante Culpepper who is much better and more capable of laying a ball out for Moss. I do agree that Collins is worse he is a turnover machine.
still, they were one dimensional, were they not? they had no defense, and their offense was primarily passing, and was opened up greatly, due to the double and triple teams on Randy Moss, allowing other recievers to be able to get open easier.
That is true that they were, but I dont believe Aaron Brooks will have the type of season Culpepper had then in 2004. Also they have alot to prove losing their last 6 games.
agreed. we will have to see. but i think this team is a lot more talented than people think they are. add to it, they have a very good coach, that will make this team much more disciplined, than when it was under Norv Turner. if you watched the Raiders a lot last year, you would have seen there were several games that they just as easily could have won, as they did lose. like i said, they could have been 8-8, but dumb penalties and mistakes cost them several games. without collins in there to stuff up, and with the discipline that Art S will instill in this team, they should be much improved, and i think have a very bright future. they have a lot of talent.
In the year 2000......
they didint overpay someone or make any blockbuster deals in the offseason? is that possible???
The Raiders' first drive under Aaron Brooks on Sunday night: three plays, minus-two yards. Second drive under Brooks: three plays, minus-one yard. Third drive under Brooks: three plays, 12 yards, then an interception ... with the Eagles' second defensive unit on the field. Nice debut in silver-and-black.![]()
And their defense looked even worse.
They offered absolutely no resistance against the Eagles' offense.
And yet they somehow BEAT the Eagles?!?!!?
What does that say about Philly?!?!?!
![]()
It says that Philly's first offense only played for one drive and that the Eagles' 3rd and 4th stringers aren't very good. I don't imagine that the Raiders are going to be facing teams 3rds and 4ths very often after the season starts -- that defense will be facing first offenses, though, and as first offensive groups go, the Eagles' wouldn't seem to be one of the best in the NFL.
Preseason games don't mean a damned thing in virtually any respect. But a very vanilla Eagles offense beat down the Raiders base defenses. Rob Ryan better have some gameplanning tricks up his sleeve, because his personnel isn't good enough to just line up and kick ass.
It says that without Mcnabb they suck. He and most of the statrting unit sat after their first drive. Preseason football is not about wins and losses, its about coaches evaluating their players and guys trying to make the squad. Oakland starting units looked like on both sides of the ball.
Beat me to the punch.
