Not if you can deliver the goods every Saturday in the fall.
The dealership paid him 276/hr on their payroll? To be taxed? How stupid can you be... if you're gonna cheat by doing this , at least pay them under the table in untraceable cash. You can't have a college football star working 5 hours a week and pulling in near 20 grand on his income taxes. Someone is gonna notice.
As for Stoops - he's a great coach and a quality person. I commend him for making these swift actions, but he really had no choice. If he did nothing and let the NCAA investigate - the possibility of harsh punishment that could wreck the program for years would be pretty high.
If Peterson was seeing 8 in the box last year, he better get ready for more punishment this year. Loosing their only passing threat and a starting O lineman is going to make life for Peterson. How do you like turning down Texas now, boy? Traded in a National Championship for bad ankles, bad publicity, and a bulls-eye firmly on your chest.![]()
Agreed, I'm sure they had a choice, give up Bomar or give up Peterson.
poor Boner, sacrificial lamb..........
Preferential treatment is great isn't it?![]()
Harsh but true..
But on the bright side, at least his pops is getting out of the hoosegow the same day as the RRS.
Stoops may be alot of things, but dumb isn't one of 'em.
that is great.
That 's way funny!
Damn!! Looks like this came out in an Aggies forum in Jan...

Maybe it was an ag that brought down ou? (Off the field of course)
Maybe these people are who prompted the investigation?
That's crazy. Just the fact that they put Bomar on the payroll for the IRS and all to see just goes to show how ing stupid Sooners are. Even their fans and boosters are incredibly stupid. First K Sampson with the BBall team and now the great dumbasses of Norman Lexus - continuing the fine tradition of cheating at OU.
SI and the Tusla World actually picked up on the story from TexAgs. Turns out that uo actually found out about it around Jan/Feb and followed the employment of the individuals in question. They kept it under wraps until AFTER the basketball sanctions came down, and they released it themselves after finding out their penalties from the NCAA. If the NCAA would have completely accepted their 'self-imposed' penalties and levied no further, then they would not be technichally on NCAA probation.
Remember, if the NCAA finds something else while you are on an NCAA probation, the penalty is death for that sport. With their basketball team having received further NCAA penalties, they had to release the facts themselves to avoid losing football season.
The NCAA does have the option of reopeneing an investigation into the entire sports program, because of the fact that they cited: "lack of ins utional supervision" over the basketball and gymnastics program. This will let them automatically reopen the case as this could fall under that arena.
