Hmmm. I don't think I can rank all those things.

In no particular order, the things that were important to me were:

Kindness, gentleness, loyalty, willingness to show affection, intelligence, great sense of humor, Spurs fan, Christian, likes/wants children, similar (but not necessaril the same) ambitions/goals/outlooks/priorities.

That was for a potential spouse. For a date or a fun evening the most important thing was sense of humor, personality, and possibly looks and money.

Not bad...a little on the high mantinence side...but can be worked around.

    It's simple:

    1) Humorous: They have to make me laugh above anything. I don't care if you look like Brad Pitt and have the body of a workout God. If you can't make me laugh and if you can't laugh yourself, then you won't be attractive to me.

    2) Intelligence: Education is a must, I personally have never been attracted to those Liberal Arts type of guys (i.e Poets, Artists, Philosophy majors, etc.) Usually, I like guys in my own field, something in Business or Engineering. Doctors and Lawyers get a bonus pass

    3) Attractive: They have to be attractive to me. This means they dress decent, not sloppy (I HATE Sloppily dressed guys), and generally just have good hygene. Oh, and they have to be tall (but not so tall that I fee like a midget ).

    4) Interesting: This is the most important thing. If they aren't someone I could see myself as friends with first, then I know it would never work out. We have to have things in common (Basketball!) and we have to be able to carry on conversations. We also can't be too similiar. I've found opposites really do attract.

That's basically it. I really don't care what his relationship with friends is, or whether he's "sincere" or popular. I don't expect him to be perfect, since I already am. As long as he has the four qualities above, he'll be ok.

You just broke my high maninence scale 1billups1

Someone with whom I have enough in common to make a relationship possible but with whom I have enough difference to make it interesting.

    Character-- a "good" man
    Humble-- yet accomplished
Strong-- but also kind and gentle; tender of heart
Spiritual-- believing in something greater than himself
Charitable-- generous and grateful for what he has
    Dependable/Reliable/Trustworthy-- means what he says
Affectionate-- but in an "appropriate" way in public

Intangibles-- the look in his eyes; the way he treats his mother; the people in his life

High Mantinence...but not as high as some. I would say you're on the verge of being one of those that demands a mate have ESP though...

It is hard to rank those in a one by one order, as all the qualities you mentioned are so important. I tried though.

Biblical Christian ( some people claim to believe in God but sure don't act like it)

Outstanding values and character- I like guys who are well above average when it comes to being kind and acting like gentleman.

Affectionate- someone not afraid to show he has a heart.

Sincere, confidence- those qualities are best when paired together

Personality- Has to be balanced. I want someone fun and romantic but not over the top

    Intelligence-Education
    - College degrees are secondary to me. I want someone who is creative and street smart as well as book smart.

    Great Communicator
    - someone who can make his point known in an interesting way.

Physical Appearance & Sense of Humor- these two are of equal importance. I think a sense of humor adds to a person's good looks.
( I ranked those two high up because no matter how fantastic a guy is, if I am not attracted to him than I won't date him.

Hobbies- If our relationship is going to go anywhere, we will need to be of the same mind.

    Family relationships

I want a guy to be a part of a loving family since his family could become my family too.
Background is a factor but not a deciding one since some situations were not/ are not a guys fault. Some things you should not be judged by, especially if you have worked to overcome them.

    Ambitious
    - in a responsible way

    Money
    - I'm not materialistic but would rather we have it than not.
Well....Rasho appeared to be a GREAT communicator and quite ambitious the way he tried to steal back the starting job from Nazr. He defintely has $$$ now that he's in Toronto. Oh and he seems to have a lot of confidence. Your list epotimizes Rasho in a nuts , Angel. Well done.

If I were to make a definitive list and adhere strictly to it, I'd be destined to be disappointed...or awfully lonely. I just know what I can't or won't tolerate, and after that just keep an open mind.

Me?? You can double-check with Random Guy in case I'm giving myself too much credit, but I'm not high maintenance in the least. I'm, like, the anti drama queen. I do have standards, but I think that ranks me somewhere around Standard Minimal Maintenance. (Just because a girl wants nice-smelling shampoo, doesn't make her difficult!)

Nobody has mentioned beer bellied alcoholics with tasteless humor and a lust for being an asshole to strangers. Are my types just not desireable to females?
Under the right cir stances, being an asshole can be hot. I remember (this one time, at band camp...) when my husband stood up to some fast-food manager who'd been rude to me and embarrassed me. As for the alcoholism, it depends on whether you're a mean drunk or just a stupid one.

Thanks. SFIE might disagree though. . .

I *can* be high maintenance. I try not to be or to make up for it in other areas.

I got lucky though, and SFIE, who was absolutely everything I wanted. He's the best partner I could ever ask for.

What is a Biblical Christian and how does it differ from an "ordinary" christian?
