Argentina won 83-79. Manu had a pretty bad game tonight and again didn't get very many minutes. He looked kind of upset leaving the place.

I've seen Delfino light up a place when he is on. He definitely was in that 4th Q.

83-79 Argentina won. Not a good game, may be because it was a meaningless game for them.

The weakest point of Argentina team is interior defense... they could be exposed to athletic and big frontcourts.

Rakocevic is a little ... On one play in the second half, he hold Manu's arm on a fall behind the basket, twisted when falling while still holding his arm (like a wrestling move), and then once on the floor he would not let go... and the refs didn't do a thing. He could have fracture his arm... luckly Manu is the elastic man, but that was some crazy .

yup. the interior d is weak. at least they got a serious challenge today instead of just coasting to the next round.

rakocevic better hope pop wasn't watching...

I saw that and Manu looked pissed off at him and the ref. Manu got hacked a lot tonight. Luckily he got out of there without any injury.

    Bobcats eye Argentina forward
Herrmann planning to join team after World tourney

SENDAI, Japan (AP) -- Forward Walter Herrmann is close to signing a deal with the NBA's Charlotte Bobcats, the Argentina player said Tuesday at the world basketball championship.

Herrmann, who has 48 points in Argentina's last two wins here, said he hopes to ink a one-year deal before the end of the Aug. 19-Sept. 3 world championship.

"I hope to get it done before the end of this," Herrmann said ahead of Argentina's practice on Tuesday. "They'll give me a physical sometime soon, and the deal will be finalized after that."

Bobcats coach and general manager Bernie Bickerstaff said they are working on getting a physical completed in Asia.

"We have an agreement in principle," Bickerstaff said. "We are working out the logistics."

Herrmann, who plays in the Spanish league, scored 25 points as Argentina beat Venezuela 96-54 on Monday to improve to 3-0. A day earlier, he had 23 points in a 107-72 win over Lebanon.

"We knew he can score," Bickerstaff said. "He's been playing very well."

With Chicago Bulls forward Andres Nocioni seeing limited playing time because of a sore ankle, Herrmann has seized the opportunity to showcase his talent.

"It feels great and I've gained a lot of confidence here," said Herrmann. "I've had a lot of minutes in these games, being successful shooting the ball and having a hot hand has really helped."

Herrmann played for Charlotte this season in the Orlando Summer League. He said his experience there and in the Spanish leagues should prepare him for a career in the NBA.

"Every player who comes to play in Spain says it's the toughest league in Europe," said Herrmann.

The big forward is an example of the depth of Argentina's squad. Few teams in the tournament have players like Herrmann who can come off the bench and score 48 points in two games.

Herrmann said the key to success here for the Athens Olympic champions will be playing tough defense.

"If we play together as a team and play tough defense we have as good a chance of winning it as anybody," said Herrmann.

Signing Herrmann would give the Bobcats 15 players under contract for next season.

whoa, another Argentinian in the NBA.

Hermann in the nba would be awesome.

After Gino and Fabri, he is my favorite national team member.

And with the Bobcats he would play with Brezec. How cool!

How much do we hate each other with Serbiansˇˇˇ. This is like the old Bulls vs. Detroit Pistons. No matter the situation of each team is always a war.-

Manu is a class act but he should have kicked the butt of Rakocevic
The Serbian Coach and Bench were whining and disturbing all over the match ( Same thing happen with Greeks ).

Officiating by the way was really awful against Argentina with them like always. Anyway we could win and send those Serbians to Spain. Normally Spain will beat them easily.

    Gus.-

This game wasn´t too important for Argentina, so some players played limited minutes, like Manu and Nocioni

    Manu scored 13 Points (4/12 FG, 3/6 3FG and 2/2 FT) in 24 minutes

Manu don´t played the 4th too much, only the last 2 minutes, and he hit 2 FT at the end

Scola was great, 22 Points (9/20 FG and 4/4 FT) with 13 Rebounds (8 in Offense), 5 Assits, 2 Stl and 1 Block in 35 minutes vs 5 Players of Serbia taller than 6´9"

Delfino was great in the 4th

I can already see Steven A. Smith calling Herrmann a woman
