Can we keep some order to these posts please? I hate having to play detective to find out all the threads these things keep jumping to. There is already a thread on the missing junk.

No war is perfect, but between this -up, Gitmo and Abu Gharib, the U.S. has become it's own worst enemy. The only thing I can figure is that W is intent on us losing this war despite our brave troops best efforts.
Wait a minute, a few months back you were calling our troops rapists, rapists, and torturers. Now they're brave?

Looks like you've got the democratic flip flop down pat.

I just want to quit ing up over there.
    People in want icewater.

People are going to continue to die. We are going to continue to have setbacks along with victories.

It is the nature of war and we are fighting an isidious, determined, guerillia opponent who is willing to lie, cheat, target civillians, take women and children hostage, and kill himself if it kills us...who is bound by no set ROE while our troops our bound by the most stringent ROE of any military in the World...Plus a demoralizing conspiracy program championed by Democrats, anti-American and their supporters, that is designed to split this country, destroy the morale of our troops and give comfort and aid to our enemy.

It's not going to be an easy war to win. I'd just like to know what you mindset at a national level does to improve anything. We aren't backing out of this war. We can't.

That's why it's best to not sit around second guessing that is over and done with or throwing a fit over mistakes.

People are going to die, more setbacks will occur, more mistakes will be made. It's a ing war. Don't be naive.

It's been going on for a year and half...to even expect it to be over by now is unrealistic when comparing it to our past wars.

My mindset is to stop ing up. If we stop ing up, things improve.
That's why it's best to not sit around second guessing that is over and done with or throwing a fit over mistakes.
So you'd rather censor me and have me waive a flag. I get it, but democracy ain't pretty either and people should and will be held accountable for ing up.

Show me a quote saying it should end next Tuesday. I know were in this for the VERY long haul -- longer than even you think. ing up only makes it longer.

1/23 snipers reclaim city from insurgents
    Submitted by: 1st Marine Division
    Story Identification #: 2004102463516
    Story by Cpl. Randy Bernard

HIT, Iraq (Oct.10, 2004) -- Marines from Scout Sniper Platoon, Headquarters and Support Company, 1st Battalion, 23rd Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 7, won a decisive battle against a heavy insurgent threat recently.

The snipers were called to action after they received reports that hundreds of heavily armed insurgents, dressed in black garb, were occupying the city.

"We are the eyes, ears and trigger finger for the battalion commander," said Sgt. Herbert B. Han , the chief scout sniper for the platoon. "Anything that he sees as a threat, we are sent out to check up on."

The snipers were the first Marines to enter the city and observe the threat. Once the snipers had located the insurgents and established positions to assess the situation, the snipers realized just how right the reports had been.

"They were all out in the open doing whatever they wanted to," said Han , 35, a native of Bryan, Texas. "They were in control of that side of the city, rerouting traffic, threatening to kill people and terrorizing people.

"Any convoy that looked like it had anything to do with the coalition was attacked and hit by (improvised explosive devices). There were civilians and civilian cars in the area, but they didn't care. They were being blatant about the fact that they were in control."

After witnessing the insurgents pull people from their cars, shoot at civilians and detonate IEDs in the traffic circle, the snipers began to fire at them.

Sergeant Milo S. Afong, a sniper with the platoon, took the first shot.

"I had a perfect silhouette of his body and his weapon," said Afong, 23, a native of Vista, Calif. "It had been the first time I saw people out here with weapons."

After the first shots were fired and a few insurgents were hit, the masked men in the traffic circle realized they were under attack.

"Even more of them showed up carrying (rocket propelled grenades) and AK-47s," said Cpl. Stephen R. Johnson, an assistant team leader with the platoon. "That is when they started shooting back. At first they were fighting us out in the open and behind cars. That wasn't working for them so they got up in the buildings and tried to set up concealed positions and shoot at us."

According to Gunnery Sgt. Timothy J. Dowd, the platoon commander, this battle marks the first time in history that snipers from 1/23 engaged enemy troops and was also one of the largest scale sniper missions in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

That was the heaviest firefight in the city, according to Johnson. That particular firefight lasted approximately 45 minutes. However, the sniper battle against the insurgents in the area lasted several more days, until their extract.

"The whole time it was like we were in a shooting gallery with people shooting at us," said Afong.

The Marines proved themselves as valuable assets to the battalion.

"We showed how (a handful of) guys basically eliminated a whole platoon," said Johnson, 24, a native of Woodlands, Texas. "We have proven that snipers are cost effective with lives and rounds. There are no subs utes for snipers on the battlefield."

The snipers made it out of the fighting with only minor injuries.

There's a lot of good news in Iraq...just don't expect to see it coming from your usual media outlets.

Do I need to post letters from the troops talking about how demoralizing the way this war is being portrayed in the media is to the troops?

It's destroying their morale. I am not making this up...

And if you still don't believe me go talk to any Vietnam Vet(that isn't a communist traitor running for President) and you will see it's nothing new.

Waive a flag? By god Chump there might be hope for you yet...I say it the same way. Seriously.

We're not going to stop ing up, there are going to be ups, the goal with ups is to up less than the enemy. And we are. It just not being portrayed that way.

50 Troops? It sucks to see that many good Iraqis die...but you have to realize that we are trainign a force of 100 thousand.

The fact that we have deposed a dictator and done a full assault on a foreign country that had both a large military, and terrorists, and guerillas...and we have only lost 1100 troops, to this point is a pheonomenal military achievement. If you define that as failure...then every other war we have been in was a disastrous loss for us.

And like it or not, our military cannot be everywhere at one time. If it could be...this war would be over.

    Waive a flag?
lol. That's what happens when you post in a BB forum.
he goal with ups is to up less than the enemy. And we are.
Says who? They have 380 tons of high explosives. We don't even know who they are.

I can feel your empathy over the net. The question is whether it could've been avoided. Common sense says yes.

Try staying on point -- I have never called this a failure. It's far from over

Seems rather clear that she expects some of her supporters will engage in violence if Bush is re-elected.

Yes, she's actually calling for riots. That's how they work. They're evil I tell you. They want blood in the streets and an Islamic dictatorship established here.

Nice catch. How could anyone think otherwise? They should be shot.

    No, she's behind it.

Riots in the streets. Plain as day. This off the record quip to a supporter with a screw loose is all the proof needed. She WANTED to be heard and have it picked up by the wires.

Se need a sedition act right now to put her away.

    Not her misstep genius, yours.

Try again. Perhaps sooner or later you will be able to "best" me. Until then stick with Sequ.

There is no misstep -- I've seen the light. Edwards wants riots. That's as easily as inferred as her expecting riots.

    Lock her up.
