First of all, did I hear or read correctly that Spain has rolled off nine freaking games over Argentina!? How the can that happen!? Damn! Anyway, I have a feeling that Argentina will pull it off, which I really hope happens for the sake of my guys Manu and Fabri. Not to mention Alvarez and our other homiez from Argentina in tha house.

    Go Argentina!
I know where I am going, but ... SPA has many good sportpeople, Nadal (Tennis is one of my favorites), but in team's sport like soccer and BBall they used to have really great teams, but ... for some reasons ... they don't reach finals

So, this is the best NT that SPA have had, anyway the mental factor is still there, SPA was up to now the best TEAM even better than ARG, not the most skilled (USA is obvious choice in that field), but ... ARG is ARG, ... so

    GO ARGENTINA GO ...

I like the Argentinian team more than the Spanish team but I will root for Spain because if an european country wins the WC, it will help France to get the qualification for olympics games.
So Go Spain and Go Greece.

    Manu won't let Argentina lose.

he will spill his blood on the court and Argentina will somehow win in triple OT

(knock on wood that he doesnt get injured)

Well it is gonna be a heck of a game. Both teams played very well throughout the tournament. Will be fun to watch... I gotta go with Argentina but Spain will probably give themselfs a chance to win.

This will be a different story... Very different.
    by Manu

Spain, tomorrow's rival in a semifinal, is a great team. They really know how to utilize their individual talents to help the team. It's also a very powerful offensive team, but they also give a lot of effort to have the best defenses in the Worlds Cup. They have a legitimate superstar in Paul Gasol bein 2.15 meters tall and very agile in the paint. But Spain also posseses quality players in all positions.

Us not being able to beat them ever makes us know that for Argentina, this is a very complicated rival, but we also beleive that its possible to beat them if we play at a very high level. When we met in the past, we were not the same team we are now, we were just starting the training and in the middle of a tiring trip; but them, they had already 5 games of training in their country. So tomorrow will be a different story... Let's hope very different. What has happened in the past with Spain can be useful but also damaging for us at the same time. Depends how we look at it.

About the keys to victory, among some, I think it will be very important to not commit least errors as possible, because the spanish know how to take advantage of that. 3 or 4 mistakes could mean many points against us, hard to get back. We have to play an even better defense than agains Turkey, have a great and inspired night in offense as well as determination and aggresiveness, trying to be in the game until the last quarter, when then, it will get more complicated for them. We'll see how it turns out.

About Walter's signing with Charlotte, I am very happy for him and hope he enjoys this experience. When he asks us about this, us four, Fabricio, Chapu, Carlos and I, we tell him all he wants. It's not easy to adapt and that's why we will be there for him always.

Finally, I would like to note that I thinks its very important that we were able to reach for 3rd time in a row a semifinals in Worlds or Olympics. It is not easy to accomplish this... Actually, no other team was able to do this in this period and its something that our group values a lot. We know that many people take this for granted, logical, or natural but it is nothing easy and it demans so much work and effort to maintain in the top. Also we have to remember how much it would cost us to reach these instances years ago and we were never able to do it. We now hope to take a few more steps. Luckily yesterday we rested and we are all ok, 10 points, and with much hunger to win.

    -Manu

They were soundly beaten by Spain during the match they played in Singapore.

Rebounds, effort & hustle, defensive cohesiveness, team offense... Spain was superior in every single facet.
Yes, in those friendly games, they were. But, Argentina also lost to Serbia by 20 in that tournament, and then we beat them at the WC even when we were playing for nothing and their ass was on the line. Also, Argentina lost to Spain in the qualifying stage in Athens... but we also lost to Italy and then trashed them in the final game. The point is, winning teams play their best when it matters. Not to say they're purposefully tanking games or anything, but probably there isn't that motivational factor that only decisive stages provide, and they needed some time to regain the smooth team work that served as foundation for Argentina's success.

Don't get me wrong, I think Spain has a magnificent team, I like them a lot. But if they're thinking some random friendly or ancient history is more telling than actual accomplishments and character, well, they'll find themselves wondering what happened, while watching the final from the comfort of their hotel rooms... again... God willing.

Argentina is the best team until someone beats them.

Should be a great game. I have Argentina winning it but Spain is very tough.

So far I am right on with my finals brackets.
I think it finishes like this.

    1 USA
    2 ARG
    3 ESP
    4 GRE
    5 TUR
    6 FRA
    7 GER
    8 LIT

Nobody can match the depth of the US. If they share the ball on offense and play tough defense they can wear down anyone in this tournament. Either Argentina or Spain would give them a serious challenge in the final.
The US gets themselves in trouble when they try to get too many baskets off one-on-one plays instead of passing and moving without the ball.

Looking forward to both of the semi-final games tonight. Greece vs. USA should be a good game as well.

Spain seems to be the better team this time around.
If Pau puts up his tournament numbers Spain will win.

If we can't qualify the though way, we don't deserve to be there.
