Now the commish has come out and said that LT cannot be traded to anyone else except for Owner 2, but only if the deal is sweetened.

Which now is really messed up.
Owner 2 now has to ask the league for what would be a fair trade.
    WOW!

The commish needs to resign. He can't do that.

    What the ?!

No commissioner can make that decision. The guy can trade LT to whoever he wants (as long as it's a fair trade).

This is turning into a Fiasco.
This league has $1200 to the winner.

He has LT and he's aiming for Pennington? Why not McNabb or Manning? It surprises me that he's been playing for three years.

Protesting trades is not there to prevent bad trades. It's to prevent collusion and cheating. Stay out of it. I can see the reasoning behind the trade, as bad as it may be. Let them go through with it.

As with any sport, the best commissioner is the invisible one.

Exactly Loose Cannon, (Wow We agreed on something)

There is no collusion between the owners as they barely know each other.
The Veto is to make sure that the trade is legit, and not illegal, not objective to people's opinions.

This has caused so much controversy because the Commish Approved the trade and now has revoked it.

Owner 2 IS PISSED, Threatning to drop out of the league.

I see his point. Why should he be penalized for drafting a good team, and then an owner who has a man crush on Pennington overpays and give him LT.

In my opinion, I would only veto a trade if it was clear that one of the following was happening.

    1) Their was something fishy behind the scenes (Collusion)
    2) It was late in the season, (Week 8 or later).
    3) Owner 2 who is getting LT would have intiated the trade.

But none of those 3 happens.
It's a case that Owner 1 made a stupid trade.

    It's getting ugly.

A stupid trade that screws 9 other owners. Trades can be vetoed, and should, for utter re ation(this is one of those times) by the commish. He dropped the ball big time.

    He went in order.

    Manning owner said no
    McNabb owner said no.
Next - Pennington owner said yes.

    Then why have a commissioner?

Since the commish let the trade go thru, the league might be screwed into letting the trade stand. The commish should have told the person to improve the trade to the point it was close to fair. Like LT for Pennington and a mid-level RB would be something that could pass.

Now it sounds like whatever outcome, the league is screwed.

Okay. So I now how you guys feel.
I'll let you know that I am Owner 2

I'm pissed that the trade was approved, and then revoked.

Honestly, you should have known better, especially with a $1200 payday. Take another owner's view: would you honestly let this trade go through if you weren't involved?

What does your roster look like?

    Just talked to commish.
Threatened to pull out of the league, and cursed him out.

He is going to let the trade go through.

So now my Roster is...(10 Man League)

    Bulger QB
    LT
    Shaun Alexander
    Anquan Boldin
    Chris Chambers
    Greg Jennings
    Antonio Gates
    Neil Rackers
    Bills Defense

    Bench
    Duece M.
    Chester Taylor
    Amani Toomer
    Charlie Frye
    Drew Brees

Good for you, bad for your league. Just another reason why having a good commish is crucial in FF.

He should have vetoed it outright, then if you ed, put it to a vote. Problem solved and you would of had nothing to say.

So if another guy trades Peyton Manning for Jerricho Cotchery and they don't know each other, it's ok?

After that trade, anything goes in this league. How can you say anything is collusion now? In fact, that trade promotes collusion amongst pissed off owners.

As the Fantasy Football World Turns ...

Congrats on the trade. That must have felt like Christmas morning when you saw that trade proposed.

I wish that would happen to me.

I've made like three trades this year in my 10 leagues and twice people complained. Especially weak considering the headliners in the trades were Trent Green in one and Mark Brunell in the other

PB -- if people complain, just throw in Deuce McAllister. He's your fourth RB and behind the three ahead of him, you'd probably never play him. Plus in a 10 man league, there's probably another RB out there worth almost as much as Deuce on the waiver wire.

You are still ripping him the off either way.

I agree, if you just throw in a Duece McAllister, no one can say anything and you still walk out of the store with a plasma when you came in with $60.

You know I didn't complain, but I think it might have to do with the fact that many owners in the league fully expect for the FBJ guys to fully kick our ass regardless of what we do.

Describe how you would react to a Larry Johnson for Rex Grossman deal.

If this happened in one of my money leagues, I'd dump my roster and leave my money on the table.

Yep, that league is ruined. Good for you Peter Burns, because you were so excited to get LT, you've ruined the fun for 11 other people.

I've never seen a $1200 league with such terrible FF players...that trade should've been instantly veto'd by the ENTIRE league instantly...

That trade should not go through.

Its not only collusion why trades should not go thru its also to block stupid owners from stacking up a team with dumb deals.

LT is the best rb this year and Pennington is just an average qb. LT was drafted top 3 and Pennington was a waiver pickup in most leagues. When Alexander comes back, team 2 will have LT and Alexander as his rbs, two of the top 3 picks in drafts. How can anyone compete against that stacked backfield?
