Funny you say this. You said you studied religion in college. You mean you
didn't hear the theory about all the fakirs of Jesus time that would pretend to
be dead and then rise from the dead. They were the street magicians of the
time, so say those who try to write off Jesus as a fakir. And he could have
    possibly been one of those.

I didn't so much study religion as I did the history of religions. But no, I'd never heard of this until now.

Here's a good one that I heard in a Catholic bible study class last year, "what if Jesus is already here, and he's someone you know"?

That one cracks me up too.

Just to comment on what was said way above...

A changing god could be perfect if you claim that he's adapting. However, if god had to adapt then the environment god is in is more powerful than god and thereby would mean god was not all powerful.

A perfect God wouldn't have to adapt. He/she/it would be pre-wired to handle any situation. There would be no need to adapt. Only something greater, as you said, could force God to change, and if any being is greater at anything than God, then God isn't perfect.

GOD doesn't adapt. "I don't change, says the LORD GOD"

So if He never changes.... why then does He seem to "act" differently in the New Testament vs. the Old Testament???

The answer is simple really. JESUS Christ became a bridge to GOD the Father. We now have direct access to Him through Christ as opposed to going through rites, rituals and being of chosen geneology... all required as an 'access card' to GOD before Christ's ultimate sacrifice... We can now experience GOD, in a less abridged, and fuller version of Himself.

With the interjection of Jesus Christ, why then does not God speak to HIS chosen people as He did in the old testement, ie; " THE BURNING BUSH". or do we just pick and choose as to which one of the ones that holler the loudest is the true holder of current revelations?

If you don't want others to interpret GOD's word for you... read it on your own and genuinely ask for divine understanding.

With regards to your question; GOD now speaks via the Holy Spirit -- burning bushes, voices from Heaven are no longer required.

As if God outsourced visual evidence to the Internet.

Others have interpeted the "WORD" for centuries and still can not agree. as is eviedent in other post regarding other's views of how they percieve someone else beliefs. How then can my interpretation of devine inspiration be any different than yours and anyone elses. Can we not just say, " seek and ye shall find". Should then Moses not of just given the Tablets of Law to the people and let them choose their own way ?
As God has given us free will, what if I "REQUIRE" the burning bush to believe. then will not God make accomidations for my beliefs and conformations?
