The Lakers are pretty good when their shots aren't contested.

After last year's playoffs and what Stern got away with, who could doubt that this is the Lakers' year? Kobe will average 30 points a game on foul shots alone.

I agree, the Lakers look as good as they ever have, and I include the Jabbar, Worthy and Magic glory days, through the Shaq and Kobe 3 peat teams.

This team is scary good, and I am so depressed about it.

The Bulls mark of 72 victories is going to be in serious jeapordy this season. You heard it her first.

Nope, I think I said it first in my last post. I do not think this Lakers team will lose a game this year, including the playoffs, they are THAT good.

After seeing the first game (Lakers defeat Suns), and how the Lakers basically throttled the Suns in the second half. I have come to this conclusion:

    Lakers > Spurs

Since the Suns made it to the WCF 2006 and the Spurs did not, one can make this assumption, no?

    Discuss.

For crying out loud it's only 1 game and yet some people are already yapping out how dominant the Lakers will be this season. This hype is only equalled years ago when the Lakers signed Malone and Payton and everybody conceded the le to Los Angeles. Sure they beat our Spurs team and they got past the Twolves. But did they win the le? No. Detroit practically handed L.A. their collective asses. The 1 reason why I think L.A. dominated Phoenix is the fact they wanted to get back at the Suns for climbing out of a 3 - 1 hole and eliminating them in last year's playoffs. So don't count your chickens the eggs haven't even been laid yet.

The Lakers are on pace to win 82 games... The spurs are on pace to never play again. I think the math speaks for itself.

The Spurs are probably a little better talent-wise, but they kind of fail at the preparation aspect of the game. You need more of this

    and less of this

I think the colloquial term for the Lakers' system is "jelqing".

Along with this perfect season, Kobe will average 38 assists a game, making Nash look like Stephon Marbury.

You know, the Lakers won their second game. Ronny Turiaf was the high man with 23 points and 9 rebounds in 31 minutes.
