Curiously, if the Spurs sweep Atlanta this year, .

This hasn't been as easy as it should be. I think the Spurs have more NBA les than Hawks sweeps over the last 5 or 6 years. In fact I think the Hawks swept the Spurs a couple of years ago.

While you geeks are at it, what is Pop's W/L record? ... and where does he rank amongst the best ever (with respect to W/L)?

    TIA.
    dknights got the raw numbers.

For what it's worth, Pop is 4th all-time in NBA history in regular season winning percentage among qualifying coaches:

    .713 -- Phil Jackson
    .698 -- Billy Cunningham
    .674 -- K.C. Jones
    .673 -- GREGG POPOVICH
    .663 -- Red Auerbach

Pop is 8th all-time in playoff victories by a coach

    178 -- Phil Jackson
    171 -- Pat Riley
    100 -- Larry Brown
    99 --- Red Auerbach
    81 --- K.C. Jones
    80 --- Lenny Wilkens
    78 --- Jerry Sloan
    76 --- GREGG POPOVICH
    75 --- Chuck Daly
    70 --- Rick Adelman

and 6th all-time among coaches in playoff winning percentage at .618:

    .709 -- Phil Jackson
.636 -- Butch van Breda Kolff
    .632 -- John Kundla
    .629 -- Billy Cunningham
    .625 -- Byron Scott
    .618 -- GREGG POPOVICH
    .617 -- Larry Costello
    .615 -- Larry Bird
    .615 -- Pat Riley
    .607 -- Stan Van Gundy

Oh, I agree. Far from a foregone conclusion.

Guy hasn't updated his site in a while but I am pretty sure we belong on that list...I show our record over the last 5 years to be 293 wins...which should put us right there between the Jazz and Sonics, but the PCT is probably not good enough...
He has the raw numbers right, but he shows the Spurs with only 1 le and the Heat with none.

does anyone have the winnin records in the tim duncan era?? im not talkin about the 70% winnin rate, i want the h2h details....
Ask and ye shall receive -- I've compiled this list, but I'll admit that there's one loss that I must have missed somewhere along the way. I checked the closest matchups to make sure it's not one of them -- I'm pretty sure it's not.

    Since 1997-98 (including 2006-07 season)
    1.000 -- Boston (16-0)
    1.000 -- Charlotte (4-0)
    .882 -- Golden State (30-4)
    .853 -- LA Clippers (29-5)
    .829 -- Houston (29-6)
    .800 -- Memphis/Vancouver (28-7)
    .765 -- Utah (26-8)
    .765 -- Chicago (13-4)
    .765 -- Orlando (13-4)
    .750 -- Denver (27-9)
    .750 -- New Orleans/OKC/Charlotte (15-5)
    .750 -- Atlanta (12-4)
    .750 -- Indiana (12-4)
    .750 -- Miami (12-4)
    .706 -- Cleveland (12-5)
    .706 -- Toronto (12-5)
    .688 -- New Jersey (11-5)
    .688 -- Washington (11-5)
    .686 -- Portland (24-11)
    .667 -- Seattle (22-11)
    .649 -- Dallas (24-13)
    .647 -- Philadelphia (11-6)
    .625 -- New York (10-6)
    .600 -- Minnesota (21-14)
    .588 -- Sacramento (20-14)
    .571 -- Phoenix (20-15)
    .543 -- LA Lakers (19-16)
    .500 -- Milwaukee (8-8)

This doesn't seem right at all...unless all 4 of those losses have come in the last 4 or 5 years...but before that the Hawks were actually a pretty decent team. I know they gave us fits when they had Big Dogg there...

    From the Spurs media guide:

    1997-98: Tied 1-1
    1998-99: DNP
    1999-00: SA 2-0
    2000-01: SA 2-0
    2001-02: SA 2-0
    2002-03: Tied 1-1
    2003-04: Tied 1-1
    2004-05: SA 2-0
    2005-06: Tied 1-1

Atlanta hasn't won in San Antonio since February of 1997.
