Hallelujah! I'm very happy that Peter Holt reconsidered and did the smart thing. It's comforting to know that the core group of talent has been secured for many years to come. Here's to more championships.

Many thanks to everyone who extolled their true feelings about this situation within this forum.

I take back what I said about Holt being an a-hole.

YEAH! Glad for all spurs fans to get that core locked for a long time! And Tony could be a key in 5/6 years for Spurs transition, he would only be 28. Good for a long & lucrative future!

Only hope that Parker could play time to time with the french national team, great for us and for NBA notoriety all over France. (even for Spurs by developing is leadership (what he is within french national team))

We'll have the capability to sign Scola and Brown, but it's hard to know if Holt will spend the money after committing to two long-term deals this offseason. I suppose it depends on how much they will cost.

If Scola has a great year over there and demands the entire MLE and if Brown explodes and commands $4 million per season, it's hard to imagine the Spurs signing both of them.

If Devin will come back for $2-3 million and Scola wants half the MLE (although it hard to say if the MLE will even exist under the next CBA), it makes lots of sense to bring them both back.

The point is that Holt is flirting with luxury tax territory. I can't see him being too excited about that. If signing Scola and Brown will force him to pay the luxury tax (again, if it even exists in its present form under the new CBA), I'm betting that he won't do it.

It's certainly possible that the Spurs will need to choose between the two, but it's too early to tell. We'll have to see what both players command.

My guess is that the Spurs will continue to make serious attempts to move Rose, as the problem with him all along has been the size and length of his contract.

But now that this deal is over, what are we going to haggle about next summer? I suppose we can always talk about trading TP and Manu now.

Probably the loss of Devin Brown.
