Fair enough. We'll cross our fingers and hope otherwise.
I love the signing, but think there's only a 1/20 chance he develops into a player. He has fantastic tools but limited bball smarts and it seems almost random that a player turns out to be good in the NBA, so I don't have high expectations. Just trying to be honest.

He's been making fun of Manu's bald spot since the 2005 playoffs. However, he has lost some of his ups but is a good enough player to adapt and add other things to his game to compensate. I don't see it being an issue this year.
I'll agree with Simmons about Manu in about two years. I've said before that with the way he playsand the amount he plays year round, Manu's ability will start heading south about the time he turns 31.

People have been predicting the same thing about AI for a couple of years. Obviously, a downturn in his game is eminent and AI doesn't even play ball year round.
It's quite possible that at the rate he's going and based upon how he plays, Manu's "window of productivity" could start to deteriorate sooner than later.
5. Manu Ginobili
Any time a guy loses two steps and develops a bald spot, that's usually a sign that he's on his way out of the league soon. We're sure he's only 28 and not 35, right? In Manu's defense, he's had that bald spot since his second year in the league....
Get the old ball back and let players complain. Fire Stern NOW
You're crazy.You're welcome.

I find myself wishing Jack had never left, but he's damaged goods now IMHO.
Jackson is still a good player that can help. How does that make him damaged?
I look forward to Bill Simmons’ columns. He is one of the brightest and funniest sports writers alive.
Simmons is great. Sometimes he's right, sometimes he's wrong, but he's always entertaining.
I also agree with other posters that our guys will prove him wrong, esp Manu. Bruce I'm not so sure - he's gotta lose a step soon, whether it be this year or next...
But Simmons raises a good question: should SA try to get SJax back? He's 6'8", good shooter, played D for the Spurs.
The way Simmons says it, it sounds like Indiana is begging for takers, but I have no idea if that's right. Would you trade Barry for him? A lot of people here were unhappy when he went to Atlanta--anybody want him back now?
He's right about Zach.
If Pop wants Sjax back, that's all the proof I need.
If not, he's can stay in Indy, punching fans and firing guns into the air.
I can't help but think that at least some of the Pacers' collective behavior is due to their player management, or lack thereof.
The way Barry is shooting the ball right now I'd think long and hard about trading him. I expect his stats will even off at some point, but for now he's been a difference maker off the bench for the Spurs. I have no doubt we'll revisit this matter at the trade deadline. If things are bad enough come January I think the Pacers will blow the team up and start rebuilding.
Yesterday I was watching the first game of the 2003 Playoffs (vs. Phoenix) and SJax was great. If he could get his together, he would be awesome. How much is he making by the way? Probably too much.
I watched that too. Jack ing T-bagged Amare in the first quarter.
