Legends at 183 and Mopac is finally getting some newer screens but is still long in the tooth. Fast Eddie's is in Round Rock on I-35 with about 6 bigscreens in a row. I know there are others, I just haven't been to them. Gotta work tonight or else I might check out Rhino and Jock's on 183 and Anderson Mill.

I don't think you could see it either way if you're in Austin and it is blacked out.

I imagine they play the game at the Tavern on 12th as well. Pretty sure they have some sort of dish. I've gone to see games at Pluckers as well, but that was a national broadcast game.

You don't have to be rich to watch a Spurs game

I'm probably the poorest person who participates regularly, unfortunately.

    I can't afford League Pass.

I live in San Marcos, just outside of San Antonio.

It seems like I can't watch most games.

    Exactly.

San Antonio is a cool town, I think. And they have the best team in the NBA.

If I thought I could get away from my family again i'd go to RC fowlers on 620 and play poker and watch the game. But I went to casinos last week to play poker and was away from the family for about 4 days so I am not going to even ask.

Really sucks cause I have already missed a bunch of games this season including last nights and even missed the dallas game cause it was my wife's birthday and I took her to a nice dinner.

    From http://www.nba.com/nba_tv/league_pass.html
    What are blackouts?
Blackouts take place when a televised game is televised locally in your area via a regional sports network, or an over-the-air station. If a game is blacked out on NBA LEAGUE PASS in your local area, you should tune to your local station to see the game.
    Why are there blackouts?
Blackout restrictions are intended to protect the local television telecasters of each NBA game in the respective team's local market.

THEREFORE, almost everyone who lives around San Antonio (give or take a 100 to 200 mile radius) who has purchased League Pass, will have all Spurs games blacked out in order to "protect the local television telecasters"

All the places I know are up north -- Legends, Fast Eddie's. Buffalo Bill's and Champions downtown might be worth calling, and Aussie's on Riverside advertises League Pass.

    http://www.aussiesbar.com/

ChumpDump has been my prime source for viewing non televised spurs games in austin. Legends was very dependable, good burgers too, and Aussies was dependable as well, with a cute bartender that had a nice smile.

    hence my question.

That's re ed. Why isn't it shown on local TV? And what's the harm in showing it on both? AT&T regularly sells out, so I'm very confused - why shut the local market out of their team when the arena is sold out anyway???

See the problem with Austin/San Marcos etc. is that they are out of the local area, so they don't get the San Antonio local channels. But they aren't out of the blackout area; so sometimes the games are blacked out on LP for them as if they were getting the local channels.

It's a stupid situation. If you don't get the San Antonio local channels, then you should be considered out of the blackout area. I don't know why they don't do something about it.

Who should we call to fix this for you guys?

The TV stations don't want to put out the $$$ to show the games. Quite simple.
