Are you drunk or stoned? Every country looks out for it's own best interest. Why should the French be any different? That doesn't mean that they are plotting against the U.S. or George Bush though.

As always, your looking for much more in what is being posted, even to the point of manipulating the topic into insanity.
No moron. I have no problem with France looking out for it's own interests, until it becomes q conflict of them making money VS us trying to keep a city from potentially being nuked.

What I have a problem with is weak minded individuals that think it's in our best interests to let them decide what's in our best interests..it's ing stupid. They aren't us. The don't have the Islamic bullseye on their chest and so I would imagine they are not as concerned about it as we are.

And you are a dip on what France's agenda is...you are so ing ignorant of the purpose the EU it isn't even funny.

The EU want to become the leading economic power in the world...with France at the forefront. They want our economic power weakened, they want our political power weakened...and you guys want to ing help them do it. Well we earned our position in the world and we have held it much more justly than any of those countries have when they were in our position. On top of that the UN and France were taking bribes from Saddam. It's a fact. That's why they opposed us.

Understand this...they are friends with the terrorists...and the terrorist countries. They are not on the same side of this as us you ing moron.

They aren't our friends. At best they are compe ors and at worst they are something else more threatening.

Stop focusing on our government for a while and focus on what some of theirs are doing.

And before you say it.... STFU up about the Royal Saudi family.. as well. Yes they are aholes but their government is pro America and they are making slow progress towards westernizing..yes they created a big part of this problem but they are not the only cause...and we didn't create the environment over there...we merely do business with them, like every other country in the world. They have trillions of dollars invested in our economy, in our banks, in our stock market..and declaring war on them would probably bring the rest of the world in it's entirety against us in a war seeing as how declaring war on them would cause a severe world wide recesssion and piss off the 1 billion muslims in the world to no end.

    Stop being ing stupid.

Give me a in break. The U.S. is losing ground, but it's not to the EU. It's to India and China. Are you gonna start whinning about them also?

U.S. companies were taking bribes from Saddam, or have you forgotten?

FU dumbass. The U.S. keeps supporting the hand that feeds the terrorists machine in the Middle East, not France. If you want to point fingers then point one at yourself cause your just as responsible for supporting terrorism as France and Chirac.

Um no, it hasn't been proved whether or not those companies were taking bribes or not...in any case, they are private sector companies and not state owned companies like the French companies are.

What we do know is that the company that is suspected of taking bribes is owned by a major contributor to the Democratic Party, which doesn't surprise me since Kerry himself had, and might still have, millions of dollars in oil stock holdings.

I gotta give you credit, you defend France almost as fiercely as an American defends America. It really gets your blood going doesn't it?

The way you feel when an American attacks your beloved France is the way I feel when a non-American like yourself attacks America. I think we have reached a point of understanding...Perhaps we could negotiate peace mon ami?

Thank you. ing Thank You. Now you know why Kerry and Liberals are idiots. Smarter indeed...

France is looking out for it's own interests. That's exactly what it's doing, and so is Chiraq and why the you think they should be given any say in what's our best interest...as Kerry wanted...is beyond me.

LOL this is great, you guys are totally defending this...priceless, the double standard on clear display by the liberals participating in this thread.

You guys are anti-American and you are pro-Europe and pro-UN. That's the truth.

And you ing wonder why we didn't let ya'll get control of the country.

This thread is a perfect example. Go to France...it'll be heaven.
Actually I prefer germany, a much more representative democracy than any that I have studied. It more accurately reflects the will of the people. I cant get back into this arguement right now (church), but will be back.

Why would you want to go to a country ruled by a corrupt US backed puppet govt?

No where is that more evident than in Iraq and Halliburton.
And how many other companies have said they are capable of doing the job Halliburton is doing in Iraq?

    Zero.

And it's not because of some right wing conspiracy, it's because they're the only one who can do the job.

And you're still a ing idiot.

    however, see the following

Ivory Coast has announced that French troops will withdraw from the West African nation, further reducing the military influence of the former colonial power in the region.

In an end-of-year address, Ivory Coast's President, Alassane Ouattara, said the move was a reflection of the modernisation of the country's armed forces.
Separately, Senegal, which last month announced France would have to close its military bases on its territory, confirmed the withdrawal would be completed by the end of 2025.

Ivory Coast is home to the biggest remaining contingent of French troops in West Africa.

There are some 600 French military personnel in the country with 350 in Senegal.

    money talks

The West African CFA Franc created in 1945 is used by eight West African countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Mali, Niger, Senegal, and Togo.

Six Central African countries use the Central African CFA Franc: Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, and the Republic of Congo. The Comorian Franc is used only by the Comoros.

Interestingly, all these countries were colonised by France except Guinea-Bissau and equatorial Guinea who were colonised by the Portuguese and Spain respectively.

All these three currencies are backed by France, meaning they are pegged to the euro and can be freely exchanged.
France manages the issuance and printing of these currencies. In exchange, countries using the CFA Franc must deposit at least 50% of their reserves at the French Public Treasury.
