thats a kick ass card.
Hey TX, I've got a question.
I already did it.![]()
thats a kick ass card.
What is it Mr Rio?
SAY ING WHAT???
Couture vs. Sylvia??
It's all over the net and this is the 1st article I found to verify.

Sorry Gonzaga, "The Natural" is stepping to the plate!
Am I dancing on the sand?![]()
Dio...wow...amazed by your replies as usual...
Yep, there were rumors that Gonzaga was not a done deal and that Couture was being kicked around. Randy is walking around at about 230 lbs right now...
This is more intriguing than Gonzaga at least!!
I have no idea if Randy is ready to compete at the HW level. Probably not. It doesn't really make much sense from an MMA standpoint. There are guys like Vera, Cro-Cop, Gonzaga, and AA who are in line for a shot. It was supposed to be Vera, but they are having trouble getting him signed, I've heard.
But all of that really doesn't matter. Randy coming back to take on Sylvia will be a big draw, and that's what it's all about.

Ah man, I don't know about this one. Do you guys think Randy can take Sylvia at this point? I hope he can but this seems like a tall order for the Natural, especially for a comeback fight.
Sylvia will just sit back and hit Couture withe pussy jabs untill time runs out like he does to everyone. Randys to old. I just cant wait for Crocop to destroy Tim
Couture is supposed to make his big announce tonight on e. This should be good...![]()
On what? Unleashed or Inside the UFC?
Inside the UFC I believe.
The news is that Randy signed a 4 fight deal and will fight Sylvia for the belt in March.
Yep, he announced the 4 fight - 2 yr deal on "Inside the UFC" last night...
I'm having "Ken vs. o" flashbacks...
I think this case is different. I think Randy is still a very legitimate fighter who would be a challenge for anyone who stepped in the octagon to face him. Ken was an old, trash talking, washed up joke. Everything around Ken was pure hype and no substance, in my opinion.
While I agree that Randy could still be great and pose some problems for Sylvia, I see the outcome as being the same - the old champ lying bruised and bleeding on the mat after an ego-destroying loss. It's more of an emotional response than intellectual; I've always admired Couture and seeing him lose a few steps the last year or two before retiring was difficult, but to watch him attempt a comeback (for a le shot, no less) that promises a bad ending doesn't appeal to me. Perhaps I should compare it to Matt Hughes/Royce Gracie instead...

Perhaps that will be the outcome. But I'm thinking the old man has something up his sleeve. Anyway, Sylvia impressed me on the ground with Monson, and I know his reach poses a big problem for Randy. I would love to know what his gameplan and strategy will be.
After Vera fell thru, they really didn't have a choice to have a decent draw for a Sylvia fight. I'm sure Dana can't wait for Crocop to smash Sylvia so he'll have a HW star...
If Randy can comeback at his age, move up a weightclass, and take out the giant, it will be one of the greatest stories ever. The only problem is that Crocop would be waiting in the wings...
True...guys Sylvia's size are one of the main reason why he dropped down to LHW in the first place...
I really don't want to see Randy get his head kicked off by Crocop...![]()
Couture speaks post-announcement.

And he debuts his "Couture Chronicles" column at The Fight Network, describing in his own words, why he's coming back.

Can we add LEONARD VS Mr.Dio to this card too?
