I still hate the Pats but they proved yesterday what playoff experience really is (of which I thought was overrated until this).
They didn't prove to me. They were handed eleven points by the Chargers. 3 points on the fumbled punt return, and 8 points on the intercepted pass which turned into a fumble. McCree is a veteran, he should have just batted the ball down. Instead of being up 21-10, the Chargers, not the Patriots, tied the game up. The Chargers are an extremely young team, so mistakes like this don't surprise me. Also, in rewatching the final quarter, Vincent Jackson ed up and cost them at least ten seconds when he lined up on the wrong side of the ball. Foolish.

Right, playoff experience to me means not fumbling, and not lining up on the wrong side of the ball. In other words, don't make dumb mistakes when playing in a high-pressure type of a situation.

I feel for you right now Sanity, I know how this feels. I think you pointed out what happened yesterday, they are a young team and they made some young mistakes. They'll be just as good next year though, plus they'll have been humbled by this loss. Look for them to win the West again.

    Having said that, GO BRONCOS!

Marlon McCree is a seasoned veteran who, IMO, made the mistake that cost them the game. Bat the ing ball down and it pretty much game over.

The Pats were celebrating a win they had no business getting? Of course they're going to ing celebrate a little over the top.

If you didn't want it to happen, you should have won the game.

I still hate the Pats but they proved yesterday what playoff experience really is (of which I thought was overrated until this).

I completely agree with all of this too and I REALLY hate the Pats.

i thought dude was supposed to be one of the most humblest guys in the nfl.
we all know youre not humble unless you say you are *cough*lebron james*cough*

belichek may not be disrespectful, but he is an austistic little , so are his alien/mongoloid runts.
    what is austistic?

dont see the big deal on the pats celebrating. it was a close game that came down to a last second field goal. college teams do that all the time and no one cares. hwo many times do college fans storm fields and courts, and when the game isnt even officially over sometimes, and no one cares. pats win, let them celebrate. that being said i hate the pats and would say the same thing if the chargers had won, who i also hate.

The Patriots showed no class. Its been said over and over, "act like you've been there before." The Pats have and they should have acted like it. Sure, celebrate, dogpile, dance around, do whatever you want to show your emotion. But doing a dance of a guy from the losing team that he does every time he celebrates, and this fact is widely known around the league, on the midfield logo...no sportsmanship at all. Brings back memories of TO ing the ball on the Star in Dallas. This is worse. They did a specific celebration (stupid as it may be) just to rub it in a guy's face. Wrong. Have some class, shake hands and celebrate with your teammates in a mature manner. Nothing wrong with that. We have seen many good celebrations over all these years by a winning team in any sport...yall know what classy is and that wasn't it.

In that case, everytime Merriman does his "sack dance", he's not showing class.

No, thats HIS dance. If he was on another team and did LT's touchdown celebration on the midfield logo after they upset his team...thats no class. Don't act like an idiot. You would take exception to it too and all of yall are acting like you wouldn't. We have seen underdogs win before and they haven't all acted like that. You don't rub it in that way. Thats unsportsmanlike. Professional athletes should be able to win and celebrate with some class. People in Atlanta got mad when some guy did the dirty bird...people got mad when whoever it was did Ray Lewis' dance, Dallas fans got mad when TO ed the ball on the Star and George Teague reacted worse than LT (though I don't blame him). Its just not classy. Patriots have won 3 super bowls. Sure they were the underdog, but is this the first time an underdog has ever won...don't think so. Just because you beat someone and they deserved to lose doesn't justify it.

Face it, the ONLY reason any Patriot player would have for doing that dumb*** dance, is to rub it in. No other reason. Just immature.

agreed. and i dont care that much about them doing the Merriman dance. that didnt matter that much, but the fact that they did it BEFORE the game was even over, and celebrated on the midfield logo... THAT was disrespectful. sure, they are allowed to talk since they won, but it doesnt make it the classy thing or right thing to do.

Look, I see your point, but in my opinion, any dance is immature and idiotic. Doing some kind of gay seizure like dance after each sack or dancing around like an idiot is not acting like you've been there before and is just rubbing it in.

I would still argue that if they didn't want it to happen, they should have won.

Yeah, but how many times have you seen celebrations take place before the game is over and you didn't get mad at it?

So from here on out you have to get mad at every team that dumps the Gatorade on the coach towards the end of the 4th quarter.

I also don't think, IN MY OPINION, that the dancing on the logo was intentional, it's just where they ended up on the field. Furthermore, have we actually seen any of the Pat's players doing all this stuff? I haven't, but I also haven't watched Sportscenter all week either.

small sideline celebrations are fine. but the entire team running on the field, and a number of players clearly running to the helmet to do dances, was disrespectful. i dont see how anyone can just HAPPEN to run right to the dead center of a midfield logo and do an imitation dance of the opposing team, and not be doing that intentionally. thats my opinion.

Not that I'm denying that this happened, but that picture could have been from any point throughout the game.

Which reminds me, was it classless when earlier in the season Chad Johnson did Merriman's dance in the end zone when he scored on the Chargers? No one said anything about that when it happened.

You are probably right, it's most likely not a coincedence. Still though, I want to actually see video evidence of this.........

Sorry. LT needs to shut his puzzy whining trap. If the Pats were a loss of class by celebrating, LT is just as much of a loss of class for being such a little b!tch about it. Take your lumps and go home, dumbazz; what did you expect with Marty on your sidelines?

The 'always classy LT' just got knocked down a notch. Now he will be remembered as a whiney little b!tch. People will remember this like they remember Kobe crying on the sidelines.

I don't blame LT for getting pissed. He is obviously a compe or and hates losing....nothing wrong with that. I also have no problem with celebrating but to me, there is a difference between celebrating and taunting. Celebrating is cool, taunting is bull . Then again, if the Chargers had taken care of business, this would all be irrelevant.

  22. #47
What difference does it make if your opponent taunts you? Shouldn't we all be grown up enough to ignore that stuff, say, past the age of 15? People get pissed and prideful over the stupidest things sometimes.

I agree with johnsmith, I haven't seen evidence of this happening, it's all heresay. But if you subscribe to heresay, then the Chargers were running thier mouths all game (according to the Pats), and let's not forget about the infamous headbutt. Aren't those things all classless as well? Where is the 'classy' line drawn?

I also find it funny that LT says "I wouldn't have done that." Um, how do we know that, LT? You have yet to do in the playoffs, so spare me the "I woulda" until you can prove it.

I agree totally, and along the same lines, shouldn't we all be grown up enough to celebrate like adults?

I am not condoning either side here...I think its safe to say both sides could have acted better but its also safe to say that in the heat of battle, almost anything is possible.

Well said. While one bad action shouldn't be the reason for another, the Chargers were acting innocent which apparently is not the case.

like another poster said. there is a difference between celebrating and taunting. the Pats were taunting. Chad Johnson doesnt taunt, he simply jokes, and everyone knows that. thats why no one cares what he does, because he does it for humor, not to be insulting, the way the Patriots were.
