I don't know with certainty but I believe a European account would be easier to manage. I have friend that live near London that could open the account for you and you could access it online and work from there.
Anybody can open a bank account in any modern country/bank. They are called non resident accounts and banks love them (I think their commission is higher on those accounts). So you don't need to have fake accounts through a local resident - which is usually a bad idea.

The main problem though is how your country of residence allows you to have foreign accounts. Most countries don't like you to have foreign accounts because it puts that money outside of their tax legislation/control, which is why such accounts are concidered as a mean for tax evasion.

And I think we all know what happens when a government thinks you're trying to evade paying taxes...

I processed an EFT the day before this went down. I haven't seen the money in my bank account yet and it is usually there the next day. I'm not too happy about it, but there's not much that I can do. I am doing a test transfer with click2pay to see how long it will take, hopefully not long.

when i was in germany all i had to do was show my passport to open a bank account... honestly, i don't even remember the fees...

however the one thing i do know is that it was super easy to pay all bills in germany with your bank account.. all of your bills(phone, electric, etc) came with the account number and bank number of their bank and all you had to do was transfer the money. granted we have it easier now with online bill pay... but back then it was even easy to move money.

and yeah, i wouldn't open an account with some other dude in charge, but i know manny is smart enough not to go that route...

really? i was under the impression that click2pay had already pulled out of the us market, slightly after neteller did....at any rate, it seemed like a load of people on 2+2 were having a hard time setting up click2pay accounts...let us know if you have any success tho

I set up a click2pay account back in November when UIGEA first passed. I wanted alterante forms of transport just incase. I'm not sure if people are having problems and the threads on 2p2 are so hard to decipher right now. There's a bunch of rumors/trash that is being posed and very little substance.

I did a test deposit into the click2pay account and they worke faster than Neteller to get the money into my account. The next day it had already hit my bank account. I did the withdrawl on Friday, and if they work like Neteller it'll be in my account on Monday morning, but we'll see.

Nov 14, 2006 Click2Pay Stays Open to U.S. Poker PlayersClick2Pay sent us an unofficial email about their current company stance regarding the US Bill which recently passed trying to limit online poker and casino playing in the US.

We were contacted yesterday by a member of Click2pay (deposit provider). The brief overview on the companies stance regarding the gambling bill seemed positive for US citizens.

According to the personnel, whom asked to remain anonymous, their merchants have been informed that is remains business as usual. This is the heart of the email we received.

"CLICK2PAY are committed to the market, internally the continued support of the entire American market is code-named 'last man standing' . Our Board have decided however not to make a public statement on the Bill as so far we have been pretty much below the radar in most press releases on this subject matter and our stock prices have developed very well in this period. Most of our merchants have been informed any way that business is as usual."

These seem to be trying times for 3 party deposit providers. On one hand they must correctly interpret the new legislation and on the other hand do what is right for their stockholders and the company in general.

Other companies like Neteller have agreed to comply with the United States law when more guidelines are issued. Firepay and Moneybookers have decided to back out of the U.S. after only a few weeks into the signing of the Bill by President Bush. Western Union will also be put under pressure from the US government due to the fact they are publicly traded.

Many online gamblers believe the worst has passed while in fact it has just begun. The closing of so many online poker rooms and casinos was just a side effect of the Bill. The real impact and closing of the root of online gambling, deposit providers, has yet to be seen but will hit land within 238 days. Players now truly await their fate to see what the deposit methods do.

To track all deposit methods and poker sites stance on the US go to the USA poker site section.

epassporte Jan. 17- The guy on the phone support said they will stay open after the 270 time period. The Neteller incident will not affect them.
Thats from that same site as well. I haven't used them yet, but I probably will because of Poker Stars. I think they charge fees though, and I don't like that one bit.

    FYI:

    Dear O Rly Ya Rly,

Despite some recent changes in the payment processing industry, we want you to know that, as a current Click2Pay user, you can still easily and safely transfer money between Click2Pay and Full Tilt Poker using your personal bank account or credit card.

You can still play in all of your favorite ring games and tournaments at Full Tilt Poker without worrying about establishing a new payment processor account with another provider.

We also want to remind you that your money is always safe and secure while it's on deposit at our site, and that we remain dedicated to providing you with the best online poker experience anywhere.

    Sincerely,

    Full Tilt Poker

    Dear Tilter,

Thank you for your continued play at Full Tilt Poker.

As you are probably aware, events completely unrelated to online poker have sparked significant changes within the payment processing industry over the past week, forcing many companies to either leave or suspend their operations within the United States.

We apologize for any inconvenience these changes have caused, and want you to know that we remain committed to providing you with great payment processing convenience and the fastest customer service possible. Unfortunately, given the unusually high volume of email generated in recent days, we have been unable to respond to our players as quickly as we would like.

Rest assured, however, that we are working to remedy this situation as quickly as possible and that:

    * Your money is completely safe and secure - Any money you have in your Full Tilt Poker account remains completely accessible, and is available for play or withdrawal at any time.

    * We've contracted with new payment processors who are committed to the U.S. market - These processors all use payment systems unaffected by last week's developments, and will become available starting this week.

    * You may withdraw money by check - If you are withdrawing $300 or more from your player account, you may request your funds by check. Please read our rules for requesting a payment by check.

    * Our processing speeds will return to normal - Once our new payment processors come online, you will see a variety of new, convenient deposit options for your use, and withdrawals processed within our normal time frames of 48 hours or less.

We thank you for your patience during this time of transition and want you to know that we remain dedicated to providing you with full access to all of our games and tournaments, and the best online poker experience possible.

    Sincerely,

    Full Tilt Poker

I def. agree with that...its a little tough to read all the doom and gloom posts when I have over 90% of my bankroll in limbo right now...For example, when anyone posts about a Prima skin (where I have around 8k right now, which is a nice chunk for me), theyre all like "better start praying"... , almost had me at Mass yesterday lol

that is good news from FTP tho in terms of the future of online poker...

Prima has a negative history from what I have heard. But I'm willing to bet thats mostly due to a few embelished stories. I think you're money is safe.

I removed a large amount from BetonBet (Prima skin) a while back but that was due to the fact that their software put me on instatilt and I could only four table.

They recently sent me an email that they were withdrawing from the market, what skin are you trying to take your money out of?

No offense guys, but the government has spoken. If you're still playing and putting a significant amount of jack into this type of business and you haven't cashed out your winnings/leftovers/whatever and applied for a job yet, then the world is not going to be sympathetic to you.

    Move to Las Vegas.

I think you're pretty likely to see the money. I'd say 99% really. Yeah, I think Battlefield and BetOnBet were the 2 major Prima skins for US players. I had 50% RB on BetOnBet, so I know how you feel about losing that sweet deal.

The emails from FT are pretty encouraging though.
