Dudes crazy
What was he on before Entourage that got him goin?
Wasn't he on Ellen's comedy show or somethin?
Is that the one with Jodie Foster and I think Sam Jackson?
If so that movie was one I wanted to check out.
A Best Buy run tommarow is looking more and more likely.
ATX, I remember Mos Def now, he was in the Italian Job wich I liked.
he was good in that
BTW, if your suggesting a CD of his to start listening to his stuff, wich is the one that you would say was his best?
The first film I remember him in is "Judgement Night."
I didn't know he did Ellen. I'm gonna search some clips of him.
It's a shame he isn't in something more "oscar" worthy.
Those roles look good, but it would be great if he could get recognized with an oscar.
Hasn't he won numerous emmys as well for his role as Ari Gold?
Eric,
If you are looking for a Mos Def album, I would suggest the Black Star album. Mos Def and Talib Kweli really rip up, one of my favorite hip-hop albums.
It is definitely a rental, but if you look at it as a black comedy, it does have some amusing parts. I liked that bathroom scene where the old lady draws the bath for the critically wounded guy and has her ADD grandson ing with the guy---not to mention her own dildo laying on the soap holder.
Piven is, and always will be Droz from PCU.
And Smokin' Aces has it's moments, but the thing is so insane and all over the place that I could never get into it. It could never decide if it was a comedy, a Tarantino-wannabe, a shoot em up John Woo-wannabe, or a serious cop drama. I loved "Narc" so I was really looking forward to Smokin Aces, and was really really disappointed.
But hey, they're already makin a Smokin Aces 2. score.
Mos Def had a good, serious role in "The Woodsman", although the movie was so-so.
Funny that TPark mentioned how ty the ending for Smoking Aces was while earlier in the thread people were anticipating the Sopranos, which had probably the tiest ending of all time.
So why haven't you watched Rambo IV?
Rambo IV was great. Pure cheese entertainment.
I like some parts of Smokin Aces, but overall, it wasn't all that in my opinion.
EXACTLY!It could never decide if it was a comedy, a Tarantino-wannabe, a shoot em up John Woo-wannabe, or a serious cop drama.
Very very well put and couldn't agree more.
The movie suffered from serious ADD.
Black star, right on, downloading it as we speakIf you are looking for a Mos Def album, I would suggest the Black Star album. Mos Def and Talib Kweli really rip up, one of my favorite hip-hop albums.

I've never heard of PCU, is that a movie or old TV show?
IMDb is your friend.
Jeremy Piven
Mos Def
Tpark--check out Something the Lord Made. HBO usually runs it here and there. It's a true story.

Alfred Blalock (1899-1964), a cardiologist (therefore, self-confident to the point of arrogance), leaves Vanderbilt for Johns Hopkins taking with him his lab technician, Vivien Thomas (1910-1985). Thomas, an African-American without a college degree, is a gifted mechanic and tool-maker with hands splendidly adept at surgery. In 1941, Blalock and Thomas take on the challenge of blue babies and invent bypass surgery. After trials on dogs, their first patient is baby Eileen, sure to die without the surgery. In defiance of custom and Jim Crow, Blalock brings Thomas into the surgery to advise him, but when Life Magazine and kudos come, Thomas is excluded. Will he receive his due?
S y that sounds awesome I will definately set that up on the TIvO thanks![]()
