Why? If trading Parker would help bring another Championship or 2 to San Antonio over the next few years, I don't see why there's a problem with it. Seriously, are you a Spurs fan, or just a Tony Parker fan?
Any chance of suiting up George Mikan's cadaver?

Because for most of the year we have not had NBA-quality play from the big man playing next to Tim Duncan, our Defense has regressed, Manu has only played like Manu for about a month and Dallas and Phoenix have improved.
You people are so ing miopic sometimes.
"We're not scoring as many points as the other team! The Point Guard controls the offense, so it must be his fault! Plus he's a French Frenchie and he's dating a Hollywood celebrity!"
Getting O'Neal would be sweet, but trading away our second leading scorer and best PG would be a DISASTER. Not mention trading away our best 3 point shooter and second best ball handler (after Tony) as well. That would leave us with Beno and Jacque Vaughan as our only PGs.
Not even O'Neal would be worth that.
O'Neal is not really what we're looking for, anyway.
talk about a huge "if."
trading parker for oneal is not going to bring championships to the spurs. , it probably wouldn't even make the spurs a better team.
I never said Parker for Oneal. I responded to someone who says to stop trying to trade Parker. I just don't get that mentality. If someone offers a deal that would improve the team, why not trade Parker?
Word.
this is ridiculous.
Trading Parker is a huge mistake, Ginobili would make more sense due to his age and how he usually misses 10-15 games a year due to injury, although I could see them getting O'Neal without sacrificing the big 3, but it'd take a lot.
They really do need someone like O'Neal, it'd make them contenders beyond the Duncan era and into the Parker/O'Neal era of, like, 2009?
Why does everyone want to trade Tony Parker so bad?
Because we're fascinated with the idea of being championship caliber for the next 3-4 years (which we already are anyways) while sucking for the following 10 years.
I think TP has a little Iverson in him.
But he has the little bit that many succesful NBA players have, and need, to be good in this league. He does have a chip on his shoulder, he does feel like he needs to do well for the team to do well, and he does feel like he can take it to any player in the NBA. But he doesn't take that to the next level where he's selfish, and he is by no means a cancer.
Though Iverson could do well with a few extra assists per game, too.
Agree. Manu is the one that should be traded before his trade value falls any further. Parker is more valuable to the spurs than Manu.
Give it up dammit. Tony ain't going nowhere jack. Especially w/ a 66 million dollar deal that could've easily been 20 more from any other team! If we do a big time trade, it HAS to be Manu, unless Paul is coming to town!
Thanks god you anly a fan, jack.
Oh, and by the way, people like you were the ones who complained about drafting Ginobili, and them he turned out being the underdog of that draft.
there goes our championship...
I would rather have Oneal then Parker, but there is just no way the Spurs trade Parker
tell horry and beno to retire...problem solved
WTF? I didnt know a scrub like beno can take us to the promise land? You trade parker than who runs point for us?
Fixed it for you.
Yeah!, trade Manu
(only for see him killing us from another team)![]()
Ridiculous.
In the era of small ball, why the do we want Jermaine O'Neal? JERMAINE O'NEAL. He is a fadeaway-shooting pussy punk anyway.
How about we keep Tony and Manu and Tim for the next four years, and do what we can to improve around them? I'm all for that. Who's with me?
