Gil benefited with the Iverson trade.

How did Tmac outlast Iverson? Wasn't Iverson the leading guard in the East? Even with all those votes transferred over, he didn't beat out TmAC?

Hopefully they do away with fan voting soon, or maybe let players and coaches vote for which players get in. Then after that list is determined the fans get to vote for who they want to start off.

Shaq is no way shape or form deserves to be in the all star game. Lets give the game a little more credibility and make it mean something like the pro bowl.
Fans should still have a say but I agree the balloting needs to change. Why take that away from the fans? The NBA should just needs to do better. Come on Shaq on the team? When he has been on vacation all season.

There should be a required number of first half games you have to play to be in contention to be a all star, that would fix it, and I think the fans for the most part do a pretty decent job

The only thing is that Nash,Dirk should be starters and Dwight Howard deserves to start. Other than that I have no problem with the starters. I even like that Arenas made it.

Jason Terry's team the #1 overall seed in the NBA

Allen Iverson's team the 7th seed

Deron Williams is not getting over them. Players should be rewarded for winning. How can you say Iverson when Terry is playing on the better team. It can't just be about scoring average.
So then why not vote the entire team with the best record?

I can see Pop telling Parker get it all out of your system. I would love to see players like Parker in a running offense.

I think Amare gets the center spot while Dirk gets the forward spot. Remember that D'Antoni gets to pick Yao's replacement.

Be real! All I am saying is that Terry and Parker and Nash deserve it more than Bryant,Iverson because thier teams are winning. Players like Iverson,Garnett and Shaq get in due to name recognition. Take Shaq his team is in 9th place in the East and has only played 5 games. Does he deserve to start over Dwight Howard the best center in the conference? Nash is having a better year than Iverson.

Kobe is playing better than ever this year, AND his team is winning with less than the other teams in the West have

I don't see how you can equate a Shaq who has only played 4 games getting an spot to Kobe and Iverson getting a spot over Jason Terry. Do you also believe Diaw should get the nod over Garnett?

I mean, what do you define as 'winning'? Last time I checked, the Lakers were doing pretty good. Or does team have to be in the top 2 to warrant this lopsided preference?

I think that Duncan makes it but remember there are 2 wildcard spots for players regardless of position. I can't see Dirk not make it with the year he is having. I think that Carmelo will likely not make it again. The forward spot in the West is so deep plus despite what they say I think his suspension will hurt him more than they will admit.

Okay take Parker and Terry out of the equation. Does Kobe deserve it over Nash? Does Iverson go over Nash?

Once again Amare is listed as Center. D'Antoni as the West coach gets to pick his replacement. Who do you think D'Antoni is going to choose?

Well take those out and your argument is suddenly less extreme and you have a case.

You should be asking whether or not McGrady deserves it over Nash; Kobe is certainly a deserving all-star starter and Iverson wasn't voted in the lineup.

My lineup would be Nash/Kobe/Dirk/Duncan/Yao, but the fans have spoken. The other two will certainly be chosen regardless. But winning shouldn't so heavily that Jason Terry should be taken over these guys, come on.
