Well Mr. Holly, when the is this damn coffee shop coming to Guadalupe Street ?![]()
Walzem has been ghetto for at LEAST 15 years. I think that's about when peeps started getting stabbed and/or shot at the VIA Park and Ride at WPM.
Great about Starbucks, but WTF is up with BK? They've been folding like cheap card tables all over town for the past 5 years...
Well Mr. Holly, when the is this damn coffee shop coming to Guadalupe Street ?![]()
My first job out of HS was at the BK on Rittiman which is miraculously still open. I haven't set foot in a BK since then. Just the thought of their food after the 10 month sentence I put in there makes me almost violently ill.
Dunno what happened to them though, the franchise I worked for had all kinds of expansion plans back then...apparently they fell through.
(On a related note, the 10 months of I spent at BK led to my first REAL job...the store manager at Bizmart on Walzem mentioned the fact that his first job as a teenager was at BK, and he said he couldn't take a week of it so he liked my "stick-to-it-iveness")
Every time I see a Starbucks, it makes me want to go somewhere and grab a good cup of coffee.
Seattle's Best >>>>>>>>> Starchucks
I've never been to it, but I hear It's A Grind over by Huebner Oaks is pretty good.
oh that's real close by. I keep forgetting to go and try it. hmm... maybe tomorrow
Is it in The Strand part or across the street (I thnk by Pei Wei)?
i don't know what the shopping center is called... but I believe it's the shopping center across of the Walgreens that is on the corner of Huebner and Vance Jackson
or maybe I'm thinking of that flower power hippie place...lol
i'm confused lol. I know i've seen It's A Grind before though
Report back if the coffee is good!
You know that MicroBucks OWNS SB, right? And Torrefazioni Italia...
ah ok.. I was wrong.. I guess it's over there by where Panda Express and Freebirds is... if I get up early enough I'll go try it!![]()
No, I didn't know that ... but regardless, the coffee at Seattle's Best is a whole lot better. ;-)
Hate to break it to you, but it probably comes from the same warehouse.![]()
I don't drink SBUX regular coffee, just Lattes when I'm running late occasionally. They're good, but expensive. I make my own at home, one of the few people who actually uses their Espresso machines. I think I got bored once, and calculated that my daily dose costs me like 30 cents, and that may have been before I started to buy my coffee at Costco, 8.99 for 2.5 lbs of GOOD fiar trade on the bean coffee.
Hwy 46 @ Hwy 281
actually 46 @ Old Boerne is where it is going to be, I see it almost every day.
its across from Bill Brown Elementary.
Fifteen years ago was 1992. No, rich folks did not hang out at Windsor Park Mall in 1992, unless by "rich" you mean "people who don't wear V-neck undershirts with stains on the front out in public" or "people whose cars do not have at least one fender painted primer gray."
Which might be what you mean.
Make it 25 and you have a deal.
In 82-83 I was in 8th grade also...what a coinkydinks.
WPM had its' day, but it was a very shortlived day because Ingram Park opened not too long afterwards and that's where all the rich folks went before they remodeled North Star.
My one claim to fame in life was the day I had the high score on all 5 Galaga machines in WPM (3 at Aladdin's Castle, 1 in the theater lobby, and 1 in that little arcade outside of Monkey Wards) at the same time. I should have just offed myself at 15 because it's been all downhill from there...

what is this talk of making Windsor into a "Forum" type of shopping place?
What's this !!!! you mean to say that WPM is not a suberb of New Orleans anymore ?????![]()
Starbucks Rules! Resistance is futile.
I've never stepped into a Starbucks.
