Most of the TP hate on this board comes from Argentineans or people who love Manu. For some reason, they think they can't like both.

Texans love Tony. In general, he's a big Spurs fan favorite here in San Antonio.

that's not true. I am one of the biggest Manu fans here and I also like Parker.

You got it the other way around, Sequ, ducks, those fools hate Manu.

I don't and never have understood the hate for Tony. He is very good. Yes, he's not Steve Nash or Magic. However, I'd rather have Tony as the Spurs point than a lot of other PG's in the league.

Reading comprehension: I didn't say all people who like Manu or all people who are Argentineans hate Parker. I said the hate generally comes from Manu fans and Argentineans, which is true.

"they" = "haters" not Argentineans or Manu fans.

And Sequ loves Manu. If you haven't figured it out - it's an act.

Ducks on the other hand has no logic to his hate. He hate LeBron because he's good. I'm guessing the same holds for Manu.

people look at TP and Manu as two rivals, in a race to become the second weapon of the team beside TD..
When TP scores +20 points, the Manu's fans use to react like ''God dammit! he scored more points than Manu''
    The same for TP's fans....
I was just wondering if this rivalry only concerns fans or do TP and Manu also feel like they compete for the lieutenant crown

They don't. They love each other and don't see it as a compe ion against each other at all. They are both playing with the same goal - to win.

No way. manu and tony don't compete because their on the same team and they're both team players.

They are very different players and each one should be utilized differently. Tony is a bulk scorer and should handle the ball most of the game. Manu, well Manu is "Ginobiliiiii" when it really matters, we will count on him to carry the team to victory or die trying.

Duncan is the engine, without the engine we don't go anywhere.

Well, no! I was a Spurs fan before Dirk even joined the league... I respect him as a player but I will always stick with silver and black... There was a story about "me" on woai.com, when Kori featured "International Spurs Fans"...

    Go Spurs Go!!!

I'm from nyc and love the Spurs because of both Tony and Manu. Tim doesn't hurt either and I love their team concept but NOT their bench. I would take the Knicks bench over the spurs group and the Nets ben... oops the Nets do not even possess a bench, sorry about that one.

BTW if Tony and MAnu played for a new york team, this city would be crazy about both of them with our big hispanic and european ex-pat populations. They would be celebs(although tp is a celeb by association already). which makes me realize how stupid Isiah is for not going after foreign players in this diverse market. Plus they would probably play better D than the Knicks current US roster. It appears to me that the Frederic Weiss debacle put them off all foreign players. I actually think that has been their biggest mistake besides overpaying for every past their peak player.

richmond, VA here...logically I am a Spurs fan.

Actually growing up in VA, I was a big DRob fan and I used to watch all of the televised Naval Academy games during his time there and my interest trickled over to the Spurs when he joined. Became a serious Spurs homer when they got TD. I've been a huge fan of TD since he came in the ACC as a 17 year old and dominated...plus my wife went to Wake Forest. Wake Forest has brought me many joys in life...LOL

I get out to New York about every six weeks to work with some customers and it blows my mind how many Spurs fans there are in that city.It seems like everytime I would go to a bar to watch the game I would end up at a table with about 10 other people from new york who loved the spurs. they cited the same reasons as you for liking the spurs. They all thought it was funny that the team who embraced the foreign players was in San Antonio. I also noticed there is a lot of Nicks fans who seem to not really support the team because they feel the orginization is screwed up. They all told me that until they cleaned house and straigtened out the front office they really were not going to be interested in them. Is that actually the majority opinion?

I go to NY about once a month and I've seen people wearing Manu's jersey more than any other Spurs jersey. I have a feeling he would be a fan favorite in pretty much any city he played for, but especially cities with a large Spanish-speaking population.

born and raised in kingsville texas

and the reason i started not liking parker was because he chokes in the finals, and he used to be a no show in big games in the regular season, he's changing but it seems sometimes like he only cares about his points and getting into the allstar game......... but i still sport his jersey........and manu's and tim's.............
