True, but he's on one of my fantasy teams...
someone put a muzzle on him already, he's infecting his teammates who are picking silly little nicknames and then getting belittled by mr. streaky for trying to take a tiny spot of his spotlight
from espn.com's daily dime:
In his NBA.com blog, Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas takes teammate DeShawn Stevenson to task for grabbing a nickname he deems inappropriate. (Stevenson's name reflects his field-goal percentage) ...
"And let's talk about 'Mister 50.' Can you believe that crap? Mister 50 ain't had more than 30 points in one game yet, but he's Mister 50. I'm not paying attention to a proclaimed Mister 50. If he was Mister 50, why did he lose to a one-armed man? Tell that to Mister 50. If he ain't scoring 29 points a game, he can't talk to me. I'm Mister 29 … Forget that, I don't need to be Mister 29. I'm Agent Zero, son."
San Antonio a third world country - BS. If they get out of the first round they will have had a good year.
Let me see they are without Jamison and Butler. I wonder if that factors in to Arenas's poor shooting. Could it be that now other teams can double team him since Jamison and Butler are out?
Right now he is struggling big time aganist us i think he is like 3 for 12 or something like that
Let me guess no Jamison or Butler right?
Ii makes a statement of how bad the East blows that The Wizards are losing right know to the Wadeless Heat. Granted the Wiz are missing key players too but still this is a game the should win.
make it now 4 for 900 because his shots are hitting the side of the rim
Note to the Wizards stop taking 3 pointers if they are not falling.
The guy is too damn selfish to ever be a great player. He thinks all he has to do is be a big time scorer and he is doing his job. He is a lousy defender, with no leadership skills whatsoever. I bet the Wizards look to get rid of him before his market value drops too much.
Eddie Jordan deserves some of the blame here. Arenas is a good player but a coach like a Popovich or a Jackson is what he needs. I get the feeling thast he really does not respect Jordan too much. Also remember that he is without Jamison or Butler which means he is the only option they have on offense. He has no true big either.
I agree about him not respecting Jordan but to me as an owner and a GM when my supposed franchise player is giving constant quotes about his stats and not about team play that is a huge RED FLAG. This guy wants to be a star more than he wants to be a winner in my opinion.
A player can't have a bad game every now and then? I don't see threads like this for Shobe, Tmac etc. He has a lot going on right now, 2 of his best players are out and his son is due anyday now. I'm sure he's more concerned about that than whether he scores 50 or not.
every now and then my ass....don't try to tell me Arenas doesn't care about how much he scores, especially when he guarantees 50 points against certain teams rather than be concerned about winning the game.
Congrats to Arenas on the birth of his son.
Gilbert Arenas was excused from practice yesterday so he could be in Oakland, Calif., for the birth of his second child, a boy named Alijah Amani Arenas. Arenas expected to fly back to Washington today and arrive at Verizon Center around 5 p.m. for tonight's game against the Hornets. Arenas also has a 14-month-old daughter named Izela.
"It's great," Arenas said in a telephone interview. "I even have a nickname for him: Triple A."
Then he came out and got a dub
Leave it to Gil to nickname his son an auto club![]()
...or the batteries.
arenas shat on all the haters yesterday. that boy is ice cold!
Arenas, Jamison, Butler
I still couldn't figure out why they keep losing. Seems like a good backcourt doesn't really mean wins.
They had a lot of injuries to Butler and Jameson....but when healthy they are dangerous.
