    Suns Make Pitch For Kidd
    22nd February, 2007 - 10:31 am
    Bergen Record -
The Phoenix Suns offered a package for Jason Kidd that included Kurt Thomas, Raja Bell and the Hawks' first-round pick that came in the Joe Johnson trade, sources said.

There was speculation that the Suns were possibly getting involved in order to block Kidd from being traded to the Lakers

Kidd, meanwhile, has been linked with the Lakers all along. But the Phoenix Suns, perhaps to block Los Angeles from getting Kidd, offered a package that included Kurt Thomas, Raja Bell and the Hawks' first-round pick that came in the Joe Johnson trade, the sources said.

Neither deal is totally dead, but sources said they probably won't happen.

    Warriors Shopping J-Rich To 'Everybody'
    22nd February, 2007 - 10:37 am
    Star-Ledger -
The Golden State Warriors have reportedly been shopping Jason Richardson to 'everybody.' They have been the team most eager to acquire Jason Kidd.

The Nets are reluctant to take on Richardson's contract and that of Adonal Foyle, which would likely have to be included in order to match the salaries.

That would be a interesting having Kidd as Nash's backup. The Suns would have to be the favorite if that went down.

Anyone but the Mavs. I think I can even stomach the Lakers winning it all.

I doubt Kidd would backup Nash.

Can't see why NJ would do a deal with Phoenix.

Thomas is on the book next season for $8 mil, Diaw starts an extension next season that gives him $9 mil per for the next 5 years. And the Atlanta pick? Its protected if its in the top 3.

Personally, I don't think Thorn ever intended on dealing Kidd unless he could bend someone over.

but they are giving up their only players that play d, and taking on an unholy salary.

Yep. They would be giving up the two toughest mofo's on the team.

"I want the Lakers/Spurs series to be compe ive again"

This season, Spurs 1 - Lakers 2. You would prefer Spurs 0 - Lakers 3?

"He's saying that Kidd will be wearing a Nets uniform tomorrow. Sorry Laker fans."

"The Cavs don't have many assets or expiring contracts. For the Cavs to pull off a deal with the Kings, they'd have to include like five players to get one. Look for the Cavs to perhaps make a smaller deal for a point guard using Drew Gooden as the bait."

I didn't see Kidd getting traded. It was too blockbuster for the Nets, who don't really have to move him.

Poor Cavs. They really want Bibby bad. If the Spurs still had E-Will they could have maybe thrown him in, but not sure who they'd want anywhere in there.

Don't they used to be on the same team together?
