i don't think i stopped laughing whilst reading this thread from post #1 to the last post, highly entertaining...except kori's right, neither team will play their starters, and viva las estrellas, i highly doubt there will be a division race come april...i could be wrong and we could have a season ending injury, but i just don't see that happening.

Dallas is a franchise on the decline. Their peak was the NBA Finals, and as of now, they are still not the NBA champions, and it is almost a year later. Maybe trading Dirk for Alonzo Mourning (since he beat them) would help.
I really hope you're kidding, otherwise, you are the most clueless poster on here and that's saying a lot.

Neither team will probably even play their starters much.

Luckily for us, Gino comes off the bench.

I want to go to that game.

A couple of minor injuries thus far but nothing that serious.

What do you mean by "overplaying"?

To me, regular season wins (and the current win streak) of the Spurs are just what they usually do: Take care of business and beat teams they are supposed to beat. Their win against Dallas opening night was just that, beating a team they're supposed to beat.
So what was it when the lost twice to Dallas (at home) after that?

    Avery preaches "overplaying"
    How is ya'll's injury reports?
Overplaying meaning giving more than 100%.
As a player if your coach tells you, initially in the year, to shoot for homecourt advantage, you will find yourself doing this all of the time while on the floor instead of letting the game come to you.

Only, if you don't know how to pace yourself, those nagging little injuries
you get while overplaying all the time your're on the floor will show up in the playoff season.

    Ask the Suns.

In the NBA, any team on any given night can win against any other team
when they "overplay." Or is the Mavs win/loss record perfect at this point?

Overplay when your main player is out and your team can win without him.

Overplay on defense by faster-than-usual transition and jumping up and down while waving your arms in the dribbler's/shooter's face on every single play.

Overplay while crashing the boards to get your rebounds.

    Overplay to contest every shot.

Overplay to pull hard on that ball the opposing player has nestled hard against
    his solar plexus.

    Overplay
1 a : to present (as a dramatic role) extravagantly : EXAGGERATE b : to place too much emphasis on
2 : to rely too much on the strength of -- usually used in the phrase overplay one's hand
3 : to strike a golf ball beyond (a putting green)
intransitive verb : to exaggerate a part or effect

    Is that Ok?

    Now, where's your answer to my question;
How's the Mav injury report looking?

Depending on where the Spurs are in relation to Utah or Houston - they may be playing their starters.

But if Dallas isn't, the win doesn't mean anything other than potential seeding.

A couple of minor injuries thus far but nothing that serious.

What do you mean by "overplaying"?
Here's the "couple" of minor injuries report I guess you can call it that then:

The only bad news for the Mavericks came in the fourth quarter when Josh Howard sprained his right ankle. He finished with 20 points.

Howard was helped off the court with 6:11 to play after he took a jumper and landed on the foot of Atlanta's Joe Johnson. X-rays were negative and Howard made the trip to Minnesota where the Mavericks meet the Timberwolves on Tuesday night. Howard, who's been playing on a sore right ankle sustained under similar cir stances in a game last week against the Miami Heat, is listed as day-to-day.

"Hopefully he should be OK," Mavericks coach Avery Johnson said.

Reserve Jerry Stackhouse, playing extended minutes with starting guard Greg Buckner out with a bruised left knee, contributed 19 points and a season-high nine assists for the Mavericks.

"Dallas is good, they try to do things the right way," Atlanta coach Mike Woodson said. "They have so many weapons, it's like, pick your poison out there."

Also out for the Mavericks was swingman Devean George, recovering from a sprained ligament in his right knee.

Dallas had only eight players with 10 minutes or more, and the Mavericks needed their reserves to grind out the victory.

I'm still not sure what your point is? That Dallas plays harder than everyone else which is why they have a better record? That the 2-3 minor injuries that they've had this season is because they play too hard (overplay)? That they will be tired come playoff time?

They certainly go 9-10 deep every night so no one is getting too many minutes. They've been one of the most fortunate teams in the league this season in regards to injuries.

I'm glad for the Spurs though since they're not playing too hard to save themselves for the playoffs

    Ok...

Buckner could've played last night if needed. He's fine. Howard is obviously fine too...17 / 7 last night...

    I'm not following your point?

The Mavs are relatively healthy IMO...

Like Kori said neither team will play their starters much.

As I have been instructed so many times now on this board, regular season games are totally meaningless...so it really won't matter who wins. Besides, playoff seeding will have been established by then.
Which is why i don't see 70 wins for you guys. AJ will want to rest up and get ready for the playoffs. We are not going to catch you for the 1 seed so there is no need for him to push the petal to the medal like that.

So it sounds like you're saying that, because both teams may not play starters very much, therefore Dallas will lose.

"What kind of idiot would I be if I said something like that?"
