They're gonna slow down video of last night's Houston game for Ely today, and he's going to get it broken down for him, and after his 7 minute tryout was shown for God-avitch and all to see, the staff will begin to describe Pop's expectations of what his role will be, then he can sit next to Butler during games and make sure he's ready to go no matter how long he has to wait. Butler will then have a chance to point out to him that that fuzzy streak of lightning raining down 3's and playing hustle defense the other night called B.Udrih, had to do a zillion DNP's (or it seemed like it!) and that that's how it goes. Then Barry will proceed to tell him in a funny way kinda the same experience. Then Timmy will sit next to him during video time for about 30 seconds, pat his back, and tell Melvin that Uncle Rob's available anytime for pointers!

I think he's got to be an NBA 6'10 if he measure 6'9 no shoes. In that same pre-draft camp, Boozer measured 6'7 3/4 no shoes and he lists at 6'9.

Anyway, I don't care about 1 inch or if he's shorter than Horry in Ely's case. He has a nice wingspan and standing reach.

With that wingspan, does anyone know about his shotblocking prowess?

Looked to me like he has the body size to be the 'banger' under the boards that this team has missed. I hope so. The FO and coaches have liked him for a while according to reports so let's see if he has the necessary at ude.

As to his time on court, we all know Pop moves in mysterious ways. Who expected newcomer NASR to put Rasho on the bench during the playoffs a couple of years ago.

I think he was pretty fit by the time the playoffs rolled around, but by that time NASR was a fixture in the rotation.

My main observation is that if Ely is 6'10 then Horry must be about 7'2.

I had the same feelling,I really don´t think he is that tall.
