    The Pistons had a run where they allowed 68, 66, 65, 65, 69, 71, 75 and 76. That's pretty good.

Hey, I kind of like this quoting thing.
Yeah, the Pistons were special defensively then but with Ben gone, they have a big hole in the middle and are not as fearsome.. definite Spurs advantage this time around if they meet in the Finals.

Not giving an F and scoring 25 like he did tonight, is impressive.
That asshole. I benched him and started Kapono in FL, so of course Kapono sprains and ankle and is probably out the rest of the week.

The 2003-04 season. They had a five game stretch where they allowed 67, 73, 67, 70 and 73. They also had another stretch that extended into the playoffs of 66, 67, 74 and 70.

That '03-04 team has been forgotten because of .4, but according to Hollinger stats, it was the best regular season defensive team in NBA history. Personally, I don't think it was as good as the '99 team, but it was pretty darn good.

WOW! Impressive! and the fact that Detroit was inline too!!!!

The greatest thing about this streak is that it shows that the "small ball" lineup can play pretty good defense.
This year is not like last year, where the Spurs doesn't have an answer for quick power forwards.
On the other hand, I am not sure how the Spurs can guard Yao or Shaq, Oberto perhaps?

The Spurs haven't had to go "small" much during the streak. They normally have had 2 bigs out there at all times.

Yeah, it's amazing how well small ball defends when you have an actual center on the floor for 35 minutes a game to help them.

Sorry guys, to me doesn't necessary mean no centers, just that we have a quick enough lineup to guard other opposition's smaller players. Thus the quotation marks.

Then it simply isn't small ball. Pop took Rasho and Nazr completely out of the lineup and did it in the middle of a playoff series against a a good team. The Spurs adjusted to it on the fly and actually improved by the end of the series; any group is going to improve with some time together. I reject the use of the term for that reason.
