Not sure if they're playing championship caliber ball...

    Need to keep improving...

Don't care how well Dallas is playing... focusing on themselves...

Never had a stretch in his career like the Atlanta game... found out after the game about 24 straight...

basket looked big, Pop called all the plays for him...

Used to being a bench player now, likes being asked to contribute right away, feels he has more margin for error, minutes are the same, still playing down the stretch...

Not like the first benching in '04 when everyone in Argentina was so upset (him a little too) now he's used to it.

He plays so hard because it's just his instincts, would play the same way against his friends at home, doesn't feel it's weird or anything just how he is

Doesn't know if he could play at a slower pace but says Pop does try to get him to settle down a bit, especially when he's playing for the Argentina national time

Says the national media adoration has kinda slowed down, thanks to not making finals last year, so he could relax more out of the spotlight

Olympics different than NBA le, very proud to give Argentina first gold medal in 50 years in anything, the basketball team was always used to being 6 through 10 in the world...

Didn't know much about Spurs or NBA when he came in, didn't understand how special this organization was until other players came in and told him some horror stories...

    Kobe question..

Didn't see Kobe's play yesterday, doesn't know. He didn't think Kobe's play against him was a natural follow thru, but maybe he was out of balance... says he doesn't think it was on purpose but he thought the refs should have called a foul on the play at the time. He doesn't think Kobe did it on purpose yesterday either because he doesn't want to be suspended again.

The only thing Rome has left to do is ask Ginobili to marry him. Enough praise already

And I knew the question about Kobe was coming.

It's not a question of better, it's just more important. One effects a city the other effects an entire country.

I missed the interview. Anything else of interest?

Did Rome offer his take on the Spurs or on where Manu ranks with the games best?

Not really, he said the Spurs where a great orginization and that if you didnt like Manu that something was probably wrong with you. He was swinging from Manus nuts even harder than he usually hangs on his guests nuts

That was a great interview. Jim Rome was genuinely admiring of Ginobili, raving about what a class act and team player Manu is. As Rome said twice, "If you're not down with Manu Ginobili then you have a problem with yourself." That was a great PR interview for Manu and the Spurs. Manu is a great player and perhaps an even better human being.

Rome can be annoying at times, but he's also great at what he does and he has a huge following of loyal listeners throughout the continent. Rome CLEARLY will be giving Manu props and respect for a long time. All in all a terrific interview.

Romes interviews are what makes his show.

all his other side acts and commentary are entertainment. If you don't like the sarcasm and wittiness of the callers using the "letter" form, then you won't like it. Personally, Jim Rome is not God, but he is usually solid on all his takes. People say he is arrogant but for his radio personallity--for this job you have to be in order to be successful.
