ipod? mini? dell?

I remember an article saying that muggers seeing the white earphones immediately know that you have a pretty expensive toy with you and it's not too far fetched that if you can afford an iPod you probably have some other interesting stuff. I believe the article was about NY and a police chief was talking about an increase of incidents when people were listening to their iPods. I can't remember the newspaper, it was like this spring...

This too, is incorrect I bought Ray Charles new album(Genius Loves Company) and ripped right to my hard drive through Musicmatch Jukebox and then to my ipod.......You can also take the music off the ipod and put it onto any computer!!! It's a hard drive!!!!

Sorry the info I got was from when they were originally released for Macs and not windows. I stand corrected.

I saw a 40 gig portable drive for $179.00 at Best Buy. I think you can use it as a player. It's smaller than the Nomad and only slightly bigger then the Ipod. i"m looking into getting that for work.

What about the new Sony one? Although I know it holds less space than an Ipod.
