Although it was garbage time, he didn't look lost like Ely and Butler do.

I agree. He didn't close out shooters or do anything really right defensively. But he looked very confident and not lost at all.

The spittin image of Stephen Jackson -- both looks and movements. Probably at ude as well. Headband, check. Glazed eyes, check. Next year he probably hits a bunch of 3s to clinch the championship. Then he leaves.

He has a ways to go. Gets little to no seperation from defenders and didn't show the strength to penetrate. But for his first game, not bad.

Beno was embarrassingly terrible in garbage time tonight. I'm not even sure what his last shot attempt was. At first I thought it got blocked, but no .. it didn't. Then I thought maybe it was a pass. It wasn't (I don't think). I guess it was just Beno *shrug*

He also ruined it. Everyone shot 50%+ on the team but him. 0-for-4

It was nice to see a player for the Spurs step onto the court and be aggressive from his first minute. That usually takes about two seasons.

Not to mention that White passed up a possible dunk attempt to pass it out to Beno, who bricked the bunny.

White said in post-game on radio that Oberto told him during the timeout if he got it on the low block, to look for the ball because he was going to put it up there for him (James).

Defensively James rotated sort of okay, but he was slow to close-out well on the 3 point shooters. He had inefficient, extra motion to get out on them. James scored 9 but gave up 12.

I was going to post on Beno's myspace last night, but I couldn't stop laughing and I didn't know what to say because there are a bunch of spammer messages on it...

And then his friend pics looked like a bunch of hootchy mammas... What a got damn tool...

    Beno has got to go...

True. When he rotated to the three-point shooters, he was cutting off penetration to the middle instead of contesting the shots. But I'm sure he has nightmares of Pop going crazy in practice when anyone allows anybody to go middle on the defense.

I can't even call what beno put up a brick. It either hit the side of the backboard or was blocked all together. Absolutely pathetic from the man purse.

We replayed it and I still don't know what happened. It didn't get blocked.

To be fair, garbage time against a team playing no real defense whatsoever is no kind of evaluation.

timvp is right, the best thing about him is that he was aggressive. But not overly so, and except for one possession where he dribbled out the clock was contributing to good ball movement.

Certainly, I think he showed enought that we'd all like to see him during meaningful minutes.

I replayed that shot like five times to try to figure out WTF happened. It just looks like Beno missed the basket by about 14 feet.

You guys may be impressed with his play, but I don't think he has it.

He looked enthusiastic enough. He kept the mental mistakes down, and he knows how to penetrate.

But I didn't see it in him. To me he looks like a poor imitation of Devin Harris. He can't rebound. He literally had two rebounds in his hands taken away from him. He can't hold his position. He's afraid to shoot at any range, which will make him an easy scout.

Its just a guess, but I don't see him staying in the league very long.

To me, he just showed that he's worth an invite to camp next year. It's probably too late for him to do anything else other than play garbage time minutes this year.

Yes, that possession where he was trying to go Streetball on someone and couldn't do anything (then dribbled out the clock), I'm sure didn't score many bonus points with Pop

But overall he was very aggressive and confident.
