No, I got it. You are right. It can read either way, though. Fabbs is known for not being able to grasp things on occasion, so dumbass on me this time for misunderstanding it.
No, his point was the same as yours, just covered with a veneer of sarcasm.
Or, maybe I just misread it.

The Spurs will lose to the Suns on Thursday. It should be perfectly acceptable to at that time.
Here's a "Dream Team" for those complaining of small ball.
Rasho
Ostertag
Nazr
Ilgauskas
Shawn "the praying mantis" Bradley

Hey , nobody's asking for five centers, but ONE might be nice to prevent game winning layups.
Hey , the Spurs shouldn't be in a position to have to prevent a game winning layup from one of the NBA's worst teams. The Spurs played like crap for 3 quarters. They deserved to lose.
By that logic, Smallball deserves to lose, too. "Deserve" has got nothing to do with anything. Bottom line is the Spurs had a chance to seal the game on the defensive end and lost because there were no shot blockers in the lane.
Some of us miss the old days when the Spurs could have an off night and still win with their defense.
