You think BE gets more TV than SEC??
Marq has only been in BE since '03.
Throw out the final fours in the 40s. Nolan Richardson still craps the Arkansas bed and Al McGuire for Marquette was peerlessly enjoyed and respected, so perhaps that accounts for the difference in perception for the programs. Marquette probably enjoys a lot more TV exposure for being in the Big East, etc.

No way does the Marquette budget begin to compare to that of Arkansas.
Big East gets more ESPN coverage because of the contracts they have, and we all know how much ESPN loves to bombard their viewers with whatever conference they have the rights to (Big East, ACC, Big 10). CBS airs all the SEC games, but that's typically only on Saturdays where as ESPN airs games practically every night. That being said, living in SEC country (Arkansas) I can say that every single SEC game is televised no matter what teams are playing, so they definitely get their fair share of coverage. But as far as national exposure goes saying the Big East gets more TV coverage is a fair statement, mainly due to ESPN.
What a joke. Marquette doesn't even come close to Arkansas' tradition.
When Arkansas is good and fairly compe ive in football or basketball, it's a big deal.
Nobody gives a what Marquette does. They can't even field a football team, and with the exception of Hoop Dreams and Dwyane Wade, nobody knows or cares much about their basketball team either.

How many of those would be regional vs. national broadcasts?
How many Big East games are there outside of ones that involve marquette?
I assume you still have the information close at hand.
To quote you: "Um, no"
Sidney Moncrief is the name I kept hearing on ESPN radio today. Well, him and Pat Summitt, so take that for what it's worth.
Pat Summitt would be better than Moncrief might as well throw Geno Auriema (probably spelled that worng) into the mix.
Agreed. Sometimes I wonder if some people weren't born out of the asshole itself.
Publicly no. Seriously yes. Arkansas just wanted to present itself with a bang like any major school.
Publicly is the issue though to begin with. Honestly right now there isn't much to pick from to begin with compared to the last 20 or so years of college basketball and as bad as Nutt and JFB have hurt the football team it has poured over.
I think you are not edumacated or just ignorant in Arkansas basketball tradition.
Firstly we have had 22 All Americans, including Joe Johnson, Sidney Moncrief, Alvin Robertson, Darrell Walker, Corliss Williamson are a few. Cdub aka Big Nasty was Joakim Noah. Times two.
Made 26 of the last 31 tournys.
Where Eddie Sutton became Eddie Sutton.
I can go on. But let me mention '40 Minutes of ' and ask anyone up on college basketball in the 90s. Everyone knew who brought it and who invented it. Final Four 90' (30-5), Regional Final in 91' upset in the tourny (34-4), yadda yadda 31-3 champs with the Thurmon Three to send home Grant Hill and Christian Laettner 32-7 the next losing to UCLA in the le game. I can go back to Sutton if ya want. Maybe Glen Rose first era?
What about the place we did it in. Bud Walton Arena. In it's first year we went 16-0 won the le and have been 180-40 since.
I can go on.
Anyways.
Arkansas is returning all of it's starters.
DPOY Steven Hill (NBA bound)
Charles MANIMAL Thomas who finished the last 3 games injured.
SEC ROY Patrick Beverly from Chicago
2006 JRC POY Sonny Weems who came on strong to finish the year
are our best. Everybody is coming back, all we need is some recruiting again. Ronnie Brewer wasn't supposed to leave last summer, pretty much let everyone know he was staying til the last 2 months. Last year was our ' le run' but it didn't work out cause RB left and Heath didn't recruit enough last year at all other than Weems and Beverly which are 2 nice starters now, one of which will be in the pro's.
The Arkansas job is not bad. We have money, facilities, and over 3.5 million fans. It's all because of this huge shadow JFB brings with him to pretty much scare the if not disgust everyone at how past prime he is. And his lil friendship with Houston Dale Nutt has shown the whole country what kind of the fans must be feeling.
Want to know how bad it is? My uncle is from Ft. Worth, huge UT fan, sickens me. Well we never get along about sports and he actually called me and told me how it's 'his turn' to lend support to the Hogs. Mainly cause I rooted for UT to butcher USC although I didn't think it'd happen. Now he says I hope those anarchists get out soon cause the only reason you guys are in the media so much is because you're a major respectable school. Coming from my ing Uncle Texas!!!! Man!!!!!!!
The job isn't bad. It's just a big load of pressure and a drag when some old is breathing fire down your back and some hick football coach is singing 'oo im saved i lub mcfadden' next door with a banjo.
Okay, the latest rumors I've heard from another mailing list is that the NCAA is currently investigating the Arkansas program and the school withheld the extent of the investigation from Altman until after he accepted the job. When faced with possible loss of scholarships and/or probation, Altman felt he hadn't been presented all the facts and backed out.
Again, I have no substantiation for this, and Altman had previously flirted with other programs only to back out (although he'd never actually accepted another job before).
You shouldn't have to wonder... thousands of them exist in your state.
More like every state?

Negative - I think you're actually living proof of the fairweather, flip-flopping stupidity that exists in "Hogville"
