idk i dug sin city is was an awesome movie.....IMO but i used to spend my money as a kid on comic books soooooooo
Never Saw Four Rooms, but I heard it was pretty crappy. I liked True Romance. I would mention NBK but it was only written buy him--and I don't think he could have done what Oliver Stone did with it visually.
Desperados' only visual appeal was Salma Hayek. I don't remember it well enough to give a critique with any more thought than that.
Sin City is skim milk. I should mention that I HATE Frank Millers , including 300, because of his dense, ultra bad ass dialogue that grows stale after hearing the 100 of variants of a dialogue which is as deep as "I'm a bad ass hero, your the ruthless murderer and now I'm going to cut your ing head off."

These guys have balls.
Grindhouse has to be seen on a Friday or Saturday night, in a packed theater. It's built specifically to be played to this audience, and it's done masterfully. It'll never work on DVD, and cannot have the same impact at a matinee.
Death Proof is the better movie, although Planet Terror is the most fun. Machete is maybe the best leadoff I've ever seen in a movie. At a time when movies are so stale with remakes and sequels, it's refreshing to see something unlike anything I've ever seen before. Brilliant movie. The only other time I've ever walked out a theater and thought I wanted to see the movie again right away was when I saw Pulp Fiction.
Don't wait for the DVD on this one. Grindhouse is phenominal all the way through. Planet Terror is supposed to be cheesy with overdone action. Thats what makes the parody of it so funny.
The fake trailor for "Machete" is so freakin hilarious.
Death Proof is classic Tarentino with long dialoge scenes and hot chicks. But the car chase scene is the ultimate payoff. The best non-CGI chase scene I've ever scene in a movie.
maybe you should watch bullitt or the french connection.
Haven't had the pleasure yet.
I'm going to go see it again tonight. Can't wait.
This movie looks stupider than . A girl with a gun for a leg........
Wow, what were they thinking?
Grindhouse was terrible... I KNEW I shouldnt have let my buddy talk me into going and wasting money on that crap.
GOD I feel stupid for s ing out hard earned money for like that. It just makes the movie people put out MORE like this.
Terrible... terrible movie.
From Dusk till Dawn is one of my favorite movies. It rules for the Salma Hayek scene alone.
the fact that this movie ended up about 3 mil behind are we done yet is quite disturbing.
I blame Jesus.
I haven't seen Bullitt, but the Death Proof car chase beats French Connection easy.
bullitt has the edge over near anything since it's in san fran.
Grindhouse was the . I truly enjoyed the experience. Death Proof was wicked and really built up the the tension. Planet Terror was fun and creative with a great script. The trailers were cool, loved machette, but I loved Thanksgiving more...also "don't" was pretty great as well. The most fun I had a theatre in a long time.
How can anyone not like the trampoline scene?
Still have yet to go see this movie. Im waitng for either the good reviews to outweigh the bad ones or vice versa..
damn are we done yet kicked grindhouse's ass. the predator!~
I want to see it, but the 191 minute run time sure doesn't sound appealing.
This would be perfect for a drive-in movie with a bunch of friends and a cooler of cheap beer.
For me, it was akin to a guy watching a particularly vicious knee to the groin. Hilarious, but... ouchies. The very quick last shot of the Thanksgiving preview took me very much by surprise, but was oddly not as much of an MPAA issue as the trampoline.
As for the Grindhouse experience in general... I'll be going again tomorrow even if I can't find anyone else to go with me. Not for everyone, but as a huge fan of the source material, I pretty much personify the target audience. I ing loved every minute of it. Death Proof slows a bit, but is still good. Also, the preview for Werewolf Women of the SS was not as funny as it should have been. But Planet Terror and the preview for Don't were spot-on perfect parodies of the genre.
I typically have a tolerance for long movies, but this one doesn't feel like three hours. When I saw it, I don't think there was a person in the audience who wasn't ready for more as soon as it ended.
Well, except for the s a few rows back who brought a toddler. Merry Christmas, dumbasses, now you get to explain skull ing to a confused 3-year-old.
I worked at a theatre a few years ago and some idiot brought his 3 year old son and daughter to see Team America. I guess watching dolls each other is easier than having to give "the talk" yourself. Parenting is funny.
I loved it. Over the top fun. I noticed a lot of people walking out on Death Proof too but it did have a good ending once you got past the long dialogue and slow start. I'd definitely check them out again.
The fact that people walk out on a movie because it actually employs dialogue just goes to show how dumbed down and re ed our society is on average. What? No shiny objects and bright flashing lights? Well then, it!! It sucks. Bring on Spiderman 3 or any other movie that appeases our 30 second attention span. God, sometimes I just ing hate this society.
