You mean you didn't enjoy the thorough domination that was the 1999 playoffs? I think that was my favorite time in sports - because they smoked everyone!!

T or F: a Kurtis Blow concert once followed a Spurs game at Hemisfair.
I had been a Spurs fan for 10 years by then.
Oh I watched all the games and enjoyed it, I've been an NBA fan since birth and I was a quasi-Spurs fan then because of Tim. But I really didn't love the Spurs yet.
1995
You had to have guts to be with a team at the 1996/1997 season ...
Be a fan of a losing team?
1980 with Sam Smith on WOAI .
2002 I think - Spurs v. Lakers playoff, Spurs won and I got 20 bucks from my Laker fan uncle and he couldnt believe it either. If I had lost I would have shined his shoes.
Back to the days of the Hemisfair Arena and fans gathered at the old Lone Star Pavillion prior to the game!
...since Spurs games were broadcast on KKYX
...since Goo Kennedy and Bob Netolicky were on the team.
...since Terry Stembridge would remind us all as he signed off at the end of each broadcast that "there will be another night."
Shaq became a Laker!
I recall that loud mouth Jim Fowler on KSAT-12 (formally known as News Watch 12).
I also recall George McKensie...that guy was awesome. I would watch then to get updated on Spurs games. The internet was non existent back then...therefore I went to them.
Ha! I think you mean Joe Fowler and yeah I remember that clown and his Boo hat.
I think about 1987... My mother actually won a 1965 red mustang convertible at a Spurs game!!
Gerald Ford was in office
Swen Nater, Ice, Silas, Louie Dampier and Bristow were on the team.
Since Larry Kenon was on the Nets
Since The Whopper was something other than a hamburger.
I've been a Mavs fan since game 7 of Mavs - Spurs last season...that was awesome...![]()
I became a Spurs Fan when George Gervin scored 33 pts in one quarter, 73 for the game, against the New Orleans Jazz (1978?)
I remember hearing the game on the radio, that's when Ice won the scoring championship that year.
Since Spurs games were on pay-per-view and I had to listen to some games on the radio. I guess that was late 80's early 90's, I was just a youngster.
I do remember him too......whatever happened to him anyways? I always thought he did an excellent job.
Listening to their best of 3 playoffs games on the radio.
So after they choked in the Finals, why did you stick around with the Mavs?
Probably the same reason some of us stuck with the Spurs for 20 years waiting for something to happen. I didnt wait quite that long, but man it seemed like forever.
I think I'm one of the few around here that's old enough- down since day one!
since Swen Nater ruled the paint...
