the only reason why they wouldn't tank is that it reflects badly on Kobe's legacy..

To miss the Playoffs with a record of 34-48 or whatever, to get in as seventh seed to drop a series 3-1, and then to miss the playoffs again!

we still have a chance at 2 seed if Clippers claw at Phoenix on their meet. With Cassell back they've been looking better.

I don't see it. At this point I'd give the Lakers a better chance of missing the playoffs than Phx blowing the 2 seed. Most likely Lakers are still the 7 and the 8 is up in the air.

Kobe stole a couple of games and got a couple of lucky baskets in 2002 vs the Spurs in the playoffs. Should've been SA's series.

You owe it to SA to beat Phoenix tonight.

I know! They were in the game wiht the Suns *because* Kobe shot one shot in the second quarter. Then he missed a bunch in the third and didn't pass much. Now they're within 5 with him on the bench.
