Then what is Cuban for choosing ESPN before they even went on the air?
And just to clear one thing up - P1/P2/P3 is a general radio term, NOT something created for the Ticket lexicon. Every station has their P1s, 2s, etc. Arbitron is a dated, sad system that needs vast improvements. To the Ticket's credit, the diaries fall into the hands of loyal listeners that say they listen 24 hours a day without batting an eye. That's where those large ratings numbers come from. The "PeopleMeter" is rolling out around the country and will measure when someone is actually within earshot of a radio and what they're listening to. The release of this brought a similarly-dominating sports radio station up in the East down almost 40% in their numbers. The same thing will be coming to Dallas within a year.
That's what I hear when checking out at Quicktrip, at least. People tell me things.
