Why is a residential real estate agent going to be in the know about GM's expansion plans, while people in Detroit have heard nothing?
This could be any number of things other than an assembly or parts plant, which make little sense given GM's business situation. It could be anything from a sprawling new multi-brand dealership to an OnStar call center.
The guy said "auto manufacturing plant" from all accounts. It's also being said that GM wants to build here because there are no labor unions in SA.

That's a lot of misinformation. GM, per its labor agreement with the UAW, does not have the option of opening a non-union plant in the United States or Canada.
I think he is making it up.
My Mom said she heard about this on KTSA too, they said its a "strong rumor".She listens to KTSA all day long.
