I'm a Cowboys fan and all I remember is handing over a dollar bill to another Cowboys fan who five seconds before it happened, said, "Romo's gonna screw it up."

Because all dallas has to do is win on sunday and have the series tied and then go back home and be up 3-2.
Why is that so hard for ya'll to think this will happen?
It's hard to think it will happen when I've yet to see the Mavericks I watched all season show up yet. And Avery being a dumbass lately doesn't help.

I was going for GS at first, they're the hometown team. But these ing bandwagoners pissed me off and talked all this how GS is the best team ever and they'll take anybody. I tried talking some basketball sense, but they didn't wanna listen. It made me mad that they'd start fights over GS, a team that no one in my area mentioned up until now. I also bet like 3 people GS would lose to Mavs. That's a safe bet right? I hope. Also, I would want the Spurs to play the Mavs in the PO's. I want the Spurs to get revenge and beat down the Mavs not the Warriors.
give these poor fans a break, when is the last time they had a playoff game in their arena? Its a great feeling to beat the number one seed in a game.

All of a sudden, a bunch of Spurs fans on here are coming out with "Don't worry guys, your team will pull out this series". It's Game 3 of the playoffs already. Dallas had the regular season to say "Oh they're just getting some lucky victories".

Dallas is down 1-2 already in the playoffs. That's halfway to elimination.

I also would like to see a Spurs-Dallas WCF, but beating Dallas isn't necessary for the Spurs to prove anything. Spurs can go through Denver, Phoenix, and Houston or Utah, then Detroit. That counts as a championship to me.

    Good job tonite GS.
It's called Texas pride. Good luck tomorrow Spurs!

how do you blame avery? for not firing the team up enough? at least he is trying to stay big as oppose to his game 1 lineup which was terrible.

I think this lies on Dirk more than anything. The Mavs need a floor leader, not just one on the sidelines.

A lot of the blame does lie on Dirk, but it's Avery's job to get on to Dirk and make him realize what they need him to do. , smack him around if you need to, Avery. Call him a pussy and blow him a kiss.

Avery's made some bad decisions lately. Starting with handing the Warriors the win that gave them the 8th seed in attempt to mind them.

I hate to see Mav fans freak out like they did tonight.

I can't help it--I feel sorry for them because I know how I feel after the Spurs blow an important game.

I also agree that its a Texas thing--I don't appreciate other teams beating up on Texas teams. Its one thing when the Spurs play the Mavs.

Its totally another when a California team does it.

Besides--I just can't be an asshole to them.

    Call me weak--

But I've actually met a lot of Mav fans who are actually pretty good people to know.

For me, it has little to do with a rooting interest and everything to do with stating what I think is an objective truth. I've watched a lot (a lot) of playoff basketball over the years and I've seen these sorts of things happen early in a series.

If it was a 5 game series, I'd agree that the Mavericks were in deep trouble at this point. But it's not. The better team wins a 7 game series more often than not, and nobody will be able to convince me that the Warriors are a better team than the Mavericks are.

The Warriors present some matchup problems, to be sure, and I think last night, the emotions of the crowd and the Warriors themselves demoralized the Mavericks as the game wore on. I just can't see that happening again on Sunday. And, I think that if the Mavs leave Oakland with a split, they'll take Game 5 and put all kinds of pressure on the Warriors to win Game 6. How many times in recent Spurs history has a series come back home tied up a 2 only to see the Spurs take Game 5 and go back out to win Game 6? Off the top of my head, I recall the series against Sacramento in 2006 (a series in which the Spurs had all kinds of matchup problems, but found a way to win); Seattle in 2005; LA in 2003; and Phoenix in 2003 (another series where the Spurs ran into a of a matchup and were scuttling at 2-2 after each team split on the other's floor). In each instance, the Spurs appeared to be in trouble similar to the trouble that the Mavericks find themselves in this morning; and in each instance, the Spurs (the better team in each of those series) got it done by grabbing Game 5.

If the Mavericks should lose Game 4, they're in big trouble, obviously. But I just can't see that happening.

Ultimately, game respects game, I suppose. I don't have game, but I sure have seen my share of teams that play great basketball and I see a lot of the same traits in these Mavericks. I might not like too many of their fans and I certainly detest the team owner, but I have a lot of respect for the way the Mavericks themselves go about their business on the floor. I guess that's why I have faith that they'll get this done.

There's a difference. SA was never trailing 1-2 after 3 games w/Phoenix in 2003, LA in 2003, Seattle in 2005, and Sacramento 2006. They always had the 2-1 lead.
