The Suns aren't really a rivalry. They're more like that annoying kid brother you have to smack around every once in a while when they start to get rowdy.
Yeah, just like they intent on winning the le this year![]()
.....the Stockton and Malone Jazz were more of a rivalry than the Suns will ever be.
Suns will never be that same type of heated rivalry, even if they were to beat us--which I still am not all that worried about going into this series-- because there's a lot of overlap in terms of respecting players' games from fans on both sides. I love it when Spurs play the Suns, because our big 3 > their big 3.
(Except the Suns homers hate Manu, but half of them will admit vocally they want him in their jersey.)
1/2 > 0
you are really stupid, but kinda funny.
that reminds me of a joke:
http://www.netfunny.com/rhf/jokes/88q4/8772.3.html
Three bulls -- a big bull, a medium sized bull, and a small bull -- were
standing by a fence one day, chewing grass and looking out over the
fields. The big one says, "See all of them cows out there? Half of
'em are mine." The medium sized one responds, "See all them cows? A
third of them are MINE." The little bull pipes up, "Hey, all the rest
of them cows are mine."
After a while the bulls notice the farmer drive up with a
truck and unload another bull -- the hugest Brahma bull these other
bulls have ever seen. The big bull stops chewing and says, with a wide-
eyed look, "He...he can have a third of my cows if he wants 'em." The
medium sized bull trembles a bit when he says "He can have HALF of my
cows if he wants them."
Then the two bigger bulls notice that the small bull is
snorting, bucking, pawing the ground, and putting on a ferocious act.
"What are you doing, fool !?" they say. The small bull replies, "I
want to make sure he knows I'm a bull!"
I think we are talking about rivalries this century dude....

i picture us next year playing like the spurs or pistons this year...there really isnt any pressure on us now and i think we can flourish in that situation...so much was expected of us this yearand we just couldnt handle it...
im not gonna lie tho i did wanna see dirk vs nash round 3
theres always next year![]()
We went through many many years of heartbreak before we actually won our first le. So join the club.![]()
Last I checked, winning the division le don't mean diddly squat. I think maybe the Spurs are above and beyond that, don't you think? So no its not a rivalry.
Mouse (Brazilian Blurr) you so funny.
Ok, let's see....
Did the Spurs play 50 games in '99 while everyone else played 82? NO!
Did the Spurs have to win less than 15 playoff games in '99 to win the le? NO!
Did the Spurs barely escape with a championship in '99? NO!
And most importantly...
Would any of the fans of the other 29 teams say "1/2 le" if it was THEIR team that won the '99 championship? NO!
Quite simply, the Spurs didn't have any special treatment or unfair advantage during the 1999 lockout shortened season. They played the same amount of games as everyone else. They also DOMINATED the compe ion in EVERY SINGLE ROUND of the 1999 playoffs.
San Antonio v. Minnesota: 3-1
San Antonio v. Los Angeles: 4-0
San Antonio v. Portland: 4-0
San Antonio v. New York: 4-1
10 straight playoff wins in 1999.
Championship banner in the rafters.
But feel free to play that broken record all you want, Brazilian Blurr. Even a "1/2 le" for San Antonio is still infinitely more than Phoenix has.
Brazilian Blurr sucks at backing his up.
true i was thining about the Colts. so many years of choking then they finally get a dominant defense and the best record in the league but lose the first playoff game to the Steelers. next year they fly a little under the radar and win it all.
there's not much different between this years Mavs and last year's Mavs that shouldve won the Finals. this years Mavs had the spotlight on them all year and clearly couldnt handle it
yeah, but now the pressure never goes away. regardless of what they do in the reg season, every playoff series will garner a lot of attention and worries that, regardless of the opponent, the mavs may wilt, and the players will think about it and be reminded of it.
The only thing about that is.....you dont have a Peyton Manning. You have a Donovan Mcnabb....but no Peyton Manning.
Very interesting comment. Now, Cowboy fans like myself look at the Eagle fans just like Spurs fans do to the Mavs. Cowboys fans will tell you who our biggest rival is and that is the foreskins and always will be those sons of es. But at the same time, we hate the out of the Philly fans because of their fans. But they have never won in the superbowl era. They've only won 7 division les with 5 coming this decade. BUT Cowboy fans do love beating them and do call them a rival but behind the skins', niners', packers', and steelers. What do the aformentioned teams have in common btw.
Wouldn't the Giants be a rivalry equal to or greater than the Eagles?
What about the Redskins?
Most Cowboy fans outside New York never really hated the Giants but that's starting to change a bit. But we never really had a huge dislike towards the Giants. We never faced them in the playoffs consistently nor did we have any bad blood history between them. Dallas vs Philly and Washington, on the other hand, is obviously VERY VERY different.
But let's put it like this.
Washington fans hate Dallas
Dallas fans hate Washington
Philly fans LOATHE Dallas moreso than Dallas and Washington hate each other combined
Dallas practically doesn't give a about Philly because of their lack of hardware
Dallas number 1 rivalry will always and forever be the Washington Redskins. In fact, here is their rivals in order.
1. foreskins
2. Niners
3. Packers
4. Steelers
5. Eagles (only because of the fans, though)
32. Texans (you're just really insignificant)![]()
Washington players and Dallas players really get into the rivalry alot. We love beating the out of each other. But Dallas fans and Washington fans really don't care about Philly much.
I am not trying to start an argument here..... I am a Cowboy since I was a kid, I remember rooting for and watching them in in the Super Bowl against Miami that they lost.
Just unsure why you omitted the 'Skins and Giants in your post is all.
You could probably include the 49ers in that list too if you wanted to.
Rivalry? What rivalry? It is just Cuban nonsense.
I didn't omit them in my initial post. I said the eagles are behind the 5 teams I listed towards the end of my comment.
