Duncan did the same thing against KG in a game last season.

tim was almost square to the hoop, it was more of a shot-put shot, no?

doesn't hook shot mean your side-ways to the hoop, shooting?
Yep, that's why I said it was as close as you can get.

You don't have to be perpendicular for it to be a hook, it just needs to be a one handed shot with a clear follow-through and fully extended arm.

Duncan must be feeling good to be able to dust off the old tricks in his book.

Regardless of whether or not it was a hook shot, it was the best move I've seen from Timmy in a LONG time...you could tell he was pissed after that one possession where he was single-covered by Amare, pointing to himself and demanding the ball, and then missed his shot. Man, when Timmy gets fired up, he is NASTY. Amare's good first half defense awoke a sleeping giant. The Suns should be afraid.

That shot that he did make over Amare when he was pissed was a good one too.

It was a terrific shot at the right moment. Let's hope we see more of them.

It was a hook that looked like a shot-put, straight out of the young Timmy D playbook. Beautiful to see as we haven't spied a make on one of those in years!

Still, I wonder what has happened to Tim's footwork... the number of times he has a simple drop-step offered to him by the defender on the left block, yet refuses to go there, annoys the out of me. Also, when he was younger he actually used his left hand consistently - these days it's a rarity.

Strangely, he's nowhere near the post player he was 3 or 4 years ago. He used to use more moves, and be far more elegant, like a ballroom dancer. These days he pauses for too long, uses only three moves regularly (drive right into middle of key; put shoulder down going right, square up, shoot over top; ballfake, jumper), and lacks the finesse he used to wow everyone with.

Somehow, he still gets it done when it matters though, so I'll STFU.

That was sick. Duncan must have felt real good about doing that to Amare.

Amare should be begging Duncan for tips when he retires.
